Jon Modica is the Founder and CEO of Nutmeg Education. He discusses online educational tools that are being used in schools today. He also shares information for parents to find online tools that schools are using. Jon thinks more schools should be using such online learning tools. Jon’s passion for education grew during his time at Connecticut College where he worked with a kindergarten program for a course requirement. After becoming deeply interested in how children learn, he chose to major in Human Development and received a teaching certificate in elementary education. After he received the Louis Lacey McGarry Award for his work with children, he was motivated to work on a documentary of an afterschool program at a homeless shelter, and also pursue an independent study on bilingual education.
