Welcome back to Fright School! We are stoked to be back in the Wes Craven Memorial Library for the first time in 14 months recording this episode! Joe takes time to take in all of the stuff Joshua has accumulated in that time. We also chat about Drag Race, of course. This week we continue our exploration of the themes of Little Red Riding Hood in horror with HARD CANDY (2005)! We try to keep our pronouns straight (insert laugh here) when discussing the character of Hayley and actor Elliot Page. We discuss how the film subverts traditional expectations of predator and prey, the post 9/11 world and revelations of torture, and how hating Goldfrapp is what truly makes Hayley the villain.
