The MHA notification says that the order was passed under Section 69 of the Information Technology act, 2000 and rule 4 of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Interception, Monitoring and Decryption of Information) Rules, 2009. The order soon snowballed into a massive controversy with privacy activists raising concern over the ambiguity of the notification, while the opposition too cornered the government calling it a violation of fundamental right to privacy of Indian citizens. Why more than 1/3rd of gov ministries don't disclose information?
30/11/2018 Duração: 04minTransparency is a basic thing for a democratic state and since India is proud to be both transparent and democratic, the government must take the Central Information Commission's audit of ministries departments seriously. According to the Chief Information Commission's audit more than one-third of government ministries and departments do not disclose basic information about their decision-making process, foreign visits of senior officials, minutes of departmental meetings, transfer policy etc.. All the 2,092 public authorities who are registered with CIC were approached between July and October 2018 with a pro forma, which they had to fill themselves. Overall, 838 of the 2,092 government ministries and departments responded and submitted to this audit. Where it shows about 35% of them have poorly scored on disclosure and only 19% have topped it.

Kamal Nath's home district Chhindwara saw the maximum turnout with 45.62 percent votes polled, while Morena was the district with the lowest voting percentage at just 29.78 percent turnout. Incidences of violence have been report from Bhind district today. Gunshots were fired in front of two polling booths. Sources said that the assailants have fled the spot and the firing was done with the intention of disrupting the polling exercise. Sources said the district is located in the Gwalior-Chambal region.
