And so we've arrived at the end. This is the FINAL episode of The Comics Podcast and that's pretty wild. In total, we've done around 300 episodes and it's been a joy to record this show with Emily, Chad and Jean-Luc. From passionate Taylor Swift-related discussions and live fursona creations, to wizard abortion talks and that one Aquaman porn episode, we've had tons of fun doing this show. Thanks for taking the time to listen and hang out with us, you're all appreciated. And hey, we ended it with a lovely episode all about the Best Comics of 2021. Which comics made the cut, does Jeff Lemire ever miss and why is Snotgirl the best comic of 2021 even though no issues came out this year? Welcome to round one of our year-end review of 2021! This week, Chad, Jean, and Emily discuss their favorite movies, albums, TV shows, and video games. Also dragons and cars make an appearance. Happy almost Christmas folks! The Comics Podcast got together for one last comic-focused show to end off 2021. In keeping with the holiday spirit, Jean-Luc went to go visit his family so Chad ends up in the host seat. Does he burn it to the ground? Or even more sinister, does he spend a good chunk talking about the hit 2008 movie Speed Racer? There's only one way to find out! There's also comics to be talked including: The Joker #10, Robin & Batman #2, Batman: The Imposter #3, Primordial #4 , Teen Titans Academy #9, Batgirls #1, Mazebook #4 Newburn #2, and Getting Dizzy #2. Oh man, Jeff Lemire is so damn good and even though it's two issues in I want Robin & Batman on our top 10 list.  Speaking of which, that's gonna be our first show of the new year! Jean-Luc is on vacation so the rest of the crew decides to talk Centaurworld, Hawkeye, Sonic Underground and Fat Albert. This week, everyone but Chad is playing that new Pokemon game what has the new Pokemon! You like Piplup? We  like Piplup. After that, Alex and Jean-luc talk Halo Infinite, then Chad talks Shadow of Intent and Born of Osiris because he's got like one personality trait and you're all stuck with it. For comics, it was a fine week of Superman: Son of Kal El, Maw, Eat the Rich, Nice House on the Lake, Robins, and one or two others I don't remember.

*Bugs Bunny in a suit holding a flintlock pistol meme* Lord forgive me, we're going back to the old Comics Podcast. Which means the first 15 minutes are all devoted to the latest Taylor Swift release Red (Taylor's Version). And then we talked about anime. What the hell It also happened to be a good week for comics, with everything from the debut of Jeff Lemire's Robin & Batman to the launch of a new series about what *really* happened in Dallas on November 22nd of 1963 called Regarding the Matter of Oswald's Body. And everything in between, like the end of everyone's favorite YA lesbian comic Mamo. 

On this weeks wonderbread of podcast episodes, Jean-luc and Alex are away again, so Chad and Emily talk about all kindsa stuff! Did you know the Red Locust is in Fortnite? Do you even know how amazing he is? I'm about to tell you! With my words! Emily played/streamed Deltarune, which is cool, and she started reading Dune! Hope you like scifi! Chad watched Dr. Sleep and listened to thirty million albums! We also read comic books, such as Harley Quinn, That Texas Blood, Ant, Sweet Paprika, DC Vs Vampires, Time before Time, and a few more I forget. Is fun.

Wozwers, that's alot of devil's water, Batman! That may be so, Robin but everyone knows that it's ok to drink with friends. Gee Batman, when you're right you're right and you sure aint left!Thanks, Chum! Now let's say we mosey on down to the malt shop for a strawberry milkshake and some curly fries? Fuck you Batman, I'd rather talk about how Jean-Luc is giving up new Star Wars, Chad's trip to the record shop, Emily watching Venom and Alex reading the Thrawn trilogy! What the fuckity fuck are you talking about Robin? And then I'd like to talk about The Joker #8, I Am Batman #2, Batman: The Imposter #1, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9, The Six Sidekicks of Trigger, Compass #5 and-That's it! No pudding for you, Chum! I'm going to the ball with The Joker because he's less of a kninny than you are! Good grief, Batman! This is why your parents faked their deaths. [Theme Music Plays]

This week, Alex and Jean-luc are gone, so Emily and Chad can talk at length about cartoons! Buckle up buckeroos, because we're hitting The Ghost and Molly McGee, Star Wars Visions, Doki Doki Lit Club, and My Little Pony: A New Generation. Is more horses! For comic books we touch on Soul Plumber, The Me You Love in the Dark, some new Gotham thing, Nice House on the Lake, Dirtbag Rapture, and I think one or two more. It's fun

This week, Chad paints and watches Yurikuma, Emily watches Y The Last Man, everyone watches that new Star Wars anime, and Jean-luc and Alex do stuff I don't remember. It's fun. We talk lots. For comics there's That Texas Blood, Shazam, Frontiersman, Second Chances, Killer Queens, Eat the Rich, some  Batman stuff, and some Suicide Squad stuff.

On this week's *nice* episode, Jean-luc and Chad drink Manhattans for the first time and discuss what we all remember about 9/11. Emily talks Riverdale! We also talk the new Linguia Ignota record, the new Slaughter to Prevail record, and probably more stuff. Shang Chai again, I think. For comics it's a big list of: Swamp Thing, The Me You Love In the Dark, The Nice House on the Lake, Batman/Catwoman, Mamo, Crush and Lobo, Mazebook, Last Flight Out, and Excellence. good comics this week!

It was a fifth week, so the crew had to find some non-comics stuff to talk about. Fortunately, it's been a bountiful couple weeks for new music so the bulk of the runtime is spent discussing Chvrches' "Screen Violence" and Halsey's "If I Can't Have Love I Want Power." On the more comics related side, Alex saw (and liked) Shang-Chi, The Many Deaths of Laila Starr ended, Emily's still reading Teen Titans Academy, and Basilisk continues with another solid issue.

What a title, huh? Probably wondering how that line came up in the episode. Well you have to listen to the show to learn that answer but I'll let you in on a little secret. I got stepped on today. Now I know that that sounds kinda hot and I won't lie it was quite warm out but it wasn't too fun. But you know what is fun? Talking with friends and that's what happened on this episode. That and some comics, including Batman: Reptilian #3, Harley Quinn #6, Robin #5,  Echolands #1, Die #19, Made In Korea #4, Department of Truth #12, Vinyl #3, and That Texas Blood #9! My hand hurts. 

Jean-luc is gone, so Chad, Alex, and Emily finally get to talk Star Wars! They also talk buying expensive toys, Chad goes to a concert, Alex watches more Naruto, and Emily catches up on The Bad Batch. It's all very fun. For comics we talk Nightwing, Ascender, Bermuda, Batman/Catwoman, Catwoman, Shazam, Second Chances, Killer Queens, Time Before Time, Eat the Rich, and at least two more I can't remember the names of. Lot of comics this week!

The comics were bad this week, but you know what's good? Speed Racer (2008)!  Speed:Racing hasn't changed, and it never will. Racer X:It doesn't matter if racing never changes. What matters is if we let racing change us. Every one of us has to find a reason to do this. You don't climb into a T-180 to be a driver. You do it because you're driven. Much love <3

We all saw movies this week! Emily, Alex, and JL saw The Green Knight, Chad saw Tenet, and JL saw Suicide Squad. We also talk the new Willow album. For comic books its The Nice House on the Lake, Trover, Porcelien, The Me You Love in the Dark, Basalisk, Swamp Thing, The Good Asian, and some Joker stuff.
