Melissa Dobkin's Podcast

After reading more about podcasts, and actually just how simple they can be, I decided that I would like to implement them into the classroom next year along with their silent reading. I often times have students present book talks about their silent reading, but I think creating a podcast instead will give them practice with this type of tool as well as allow students to listen to each other's and find another book they may be interested in reading. I used this podcast as a way to tell about a book and then incorporate my thoughts about the book. I like the title, A Radical New Reading, because I think I will create a podcast for every new book I read. That way my students can listen to what I thought and maybe select a book from my podcast as well. I would like to open this up to all teachers and maybe have a spot on the school website where all teachers post their podcasts about books they are reading.
