Guy McPhee struck and killed Hamilton teacher Jay Keddy in December 2015. Keddy was riding his bicycle home from work when McPhee collided with him on the Claremont Access. McPhee was found guilty in July of careless driving, and was sentenced September 8. Badgerow made history when he became the first person in Canada to be charged four times for the same first-degree murder. He was found guilty in the fall of 2016, and has since filed an appeal. As of August 24, an Ontario appeal court has granted him bail while waiting on that appeal. Which means that he will soon be out of jail, back home with his family.
