    In Episode 8, the final episode of season one of FIELD WORK, Drew Pettifer speaks to artist Raquel Ormella and Greens MP Adam Bandt about environmental activism and social change. Raquel Ormella is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses video, objects, drawing and writing. Her work looks at the complex relationship between humans and the natural environment and the effects of political language on national identity, reflecting processes of self-examination, political consciousness and social action. Season two of FIELD WORK will launch in late 2018.

    In Episode 7, Drew Pettifer speaks to artist Stelarc and Professor Peter Singer about bioethics, biotechnology and the body. Stelarc is a performance artist whose work explores and expands the concept of the body and its relationship with technology. He is renowned for his early body suspension pieces with hooks into the skin. Throughout his career he has used medical instruments, prosthetics, robotics, Virtual Reality systems, the internet and biotechnology to engineer intimate and involuntary interfaces with the body.

    In Episode 6, Drew Pettifer speaks to artist William Yang, the Hon Michael Kirby and academic Paul Sendziuk about queer rights, the AIDS pandemic and representation. William Yang is a prolific storyteller. His photographs and monologues with slide projections describe his experience of coming to terms with his identity as a gay Chinese Australian. Yang’s work is a rich visual record of queer histories and struggles, as well as a personal exploration of his Chinese heritage and family relationships. Often inscribed with handwritten commentary, his visual stories offer insightful reflections on cultural identity. FIELD WORK is produced by Channon Goodwin, Drew Pettifer, and supported by Bus Projects with funding from Copyright Agency Cultural Fund. Audio production, editing and mixing by Bec Fary. Lyndal Walker’s work interrogates the construction of images, gender roles and our relationship to time. Fashion, as reference, subject matter and context has been important to her practice and her work emerges out of an ambivalent relationship to consumer culture.

She uses the unlikely medium of glass to explore the treatment of Aboriginal Australians in both historic and contemporary contexts.
