I'll take more Wade!  First, another aging thing, I finally found it, grading myself for being able to avoid all the chaos yesterday, then why it may not be so bad. And one thing we have to absolutely ensure DOES NOT HAPPEN. 

It's been...too long since my best friend Alex Thomas has been able to record with us. She's back to invite you to a fundraiser for her place, Neighborhood Properties, at Maumee Bay Brewing, something we're calling Q Karaoke.  Once she shared her role in creating the Wellness Center for NPI. We'll go back over that but also, what NPI does.  Then some election stuff, which is still relevant even today!

Like recent guest Mac Driscoll, Brittany too was appointed to an open seat on council. Unlike Mac, Brittany is unopposed on the ballot and voting that wraps up Tuesday.  We're (unfortunately) by no means a hub of deep intellect in NWO, but Dr. Jones is about as close to a polymath as we likely have here. From a love of writing to a PhD of...well, not writing! I'll let her explain because her educational background is even over my wannabe-intellectual mind. 

She's following, if not a legend, a missed pillar in our community. But she has the DNA to step right in for Coach Cullop at Savage and beyond. Along with new Lady Rockets Coach Ginny Boggess is freshman Evalyse Cole. Why not one of the more veteran staples of the team like Sammi  or Nan? Because of Evalyse's uncle!

Walleye broadcaster Kendall Linnenkugel returns to get us ready for this year's season, that hopefully ends with a Kelly Cup. Why do they always fall to unfamiliar foes in the playoffs? Kendall also talks up a new addition to the team that has equal star power and talent as MVP Brandon Hawkins.  If you wanna skip ahead past some of the nuts of the bolts in the season preview, please do, but don't miss Kendall's perspective on the Caitlin Clark phenomenon and many more things women's sports.

Who ISN'T being counted in election polls? I theory. First, I'm hoping our Trunk or Treat isnt TOO overwhelming and forbid, unruly.  Yea, my fan is still on. People need to think about this before they engage with strangers.   

The early voting center on Sylvania is less daunting than the crowds and cars would have you believe. I made one surprising choice with my ballot. After all that the app isn't live! Possible sewer water solutions in Maumee.  I understand the cheering for Deshaun Watson's injury. He DID have to deal with 2 dozen very serious lawsuits. Thanks Cucumber Guy.

The Browns are leaving Cleveland, again. But not going as far as Baltimore this time, and why them going is good for you. First, thank you to Laura at CCS, and Steve Taylor is more than zany commercials and putting you in Kias. He's the real deal. And, two Lady Rockets got free cars.

Before we talk to returning guest Jess Burns from the 4H youth program - keeping your kids busy and engaged for $5 - I KNEW I recognized that face of one of the people seen after Guardians Lane Thomas hit a grand slam to send Cleveland to the League Championship Series. I just needed to read the story to have my A HA moment of recognition. 

The last time we had Mac Driscoll on was years ago. He was running for council then. Now he's ON council but running for reelection. Even if this wasn't about that, Mac has fantastic insight about city building, making great neighborhoods and attracting new residents to Toledo. 

Fresh off a good time at the Maumee Film Fest, Anthony Wright is here to invite you to his third feature happening on the gorgeous screen at the Imagination Station on Oct. 18th.  Let's get to know Anthony, and I do mean that literally, because this is our first time ever chatting.

Why isn't Rihanna coming to perform in Toledo anytime soon? That's an actual question for today's guest, Brandon Selhorst, the Commissioner of Economic and Business Development for Toledo. That may sound like a long and drab title, but Brandon is a vital cog to SO many of places and things we enjoy here in Toledo.  Is the summer concert series going to continue? How important is it? Could Erie Street Market be a daily venue, instead of just the Saturday's Farmer's Market.  And much more to discuss with Brandon.  

The student and employee of Tisha Lee Mays from the Amaysing Kids broadcasting program, Crystal Smith, came to shadow me in my radio job. She wound up on the podcast and I think she was phenomenal. The beginning of changes at Lucas County Canine Care and Control, but I'm pessimistic there'll be much more. I hope I'm wrong. First.... Perhaps one of the last things to return from the banishment of COVID is the Maumee Film Festival, which is next weekend at the Maumee Indoor. A preview of the fest with Film Toledo's Charles Wetzel and the Indoor's Director of Operations Sara Eiden. Sara is also kind enough to answer ALL of my questions about the many fantastic things happening at the venue. Did you know they run new movies!? First, I'm not changing his name and the bitterness of ACV.

That's in the very last few minutes of today's episode, so first... Why I was SO happy in the hours after the debate. It was actually enjoyable to engage with others on the Internet. We went back to the Old Days of it! I don't need to go see the Joker sequel in theaters after what I've been reading.  There's a BAZILLION of these and I think churches are required to do them! There's rizs and Ohio but these more vital words have gone dormant.
