This day is also known as Vijayadashmi. a. Durga Devi in the form of Mahishasur Mardini slayed the demon Mahishasur b. Rama Killed Ravan on this day. c. Pandavas returned to their kingdom Virat after their exile. Significance of Vijayadashmi Nine days of Navaratri are divided into three parts, each representing  Tamas, Rajas, Satva First three days represent Tamas: Goddess is fierce and in the form of Durga and Kali. Next three days are related to Goddess Laxmi  : Materialistic oriented. Last Three days are dedicated to Goddesss Saraswati- Reading, learning and enlightenment. On the day of Vijayadashmi, it is said that we have conquered all these qualities, we participated in these days, but overcame and did not give in. Dussera also is symbolic of the ten headed Ravana- each head representing one bad quality or ill. These qualities are:  Kama (lust), Krodha (anger), Moha (attraction), Lobha (greed), Madaa (over pride), Matsara (jealously), Swartha(selfishness), Anyaya (injustice), Amanavata(cruelty) and Ahan

Siddhi means perfection. Goddess Siddhidatri has four hands, and wields a gada (mace) and chakra (wheel) in her right hands had a shakha (conch) and lotus in her left hands. She rides a tiger, and is known to be a perfectionist. She governs planet Ketu. Devi can grant 18 types of Sindhis that humans desire for their betterment. In addition she can also grant 26 other types of wishes. Kaalaratri Devi is the destroyer of darkness within. She is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati and is said to have destroyed the demons Shumbha, Nishumbha, and Raktabeeja. She controls Lord Shani and also Sahastrachakra (the seventh ckahra, situated in the head). Her ride is a donkey, she is dark in complexion, and carries a sword and an iron hook. On the fifth day of Navaratri Festival, we worship Devi Skandamata. She is the Goddess responsible for action and activity. The represents icchaskakti (the power of intention), gyanshakti (the power of knowledge) and krisyashakti (the power of action).
