Quintessential ZA — A discussion was held with a small panel on Heritage Day in 2018 about what kind of democracy South Africa should have. They took a broad look at democracy and some examples of how our global counterparts implement democracy. They also covered electoral education and the importance of each person’s vote, challenges faced by citizens and how democracy can be made more inclusive. In seeking answers to these questions, they discussed the barriers and challenges to achieving a democracy that works for all and what the solutions could be.
