Will the Preakness remain in Baltimore? It’s the question on the minds of many as we head into the 144th running of the Preakness Stakes this weekend. Much of the debate centers around rebuilding the area around the track. That, of course, means money. Many say it can be done, but keeping the race here means a lot of money to the Pimlico area of Park Heights.

It’s four days and counting until the 144th Preakness here in Baltimore and the debate wages on over whether to move the race to Laurel. While many Baltimoreans and local politicians are passionate about keeping the race at Pimlico, how do lawmakers in Annapolis and elsewhere see the Preakness?
