After healing people, and continuing to share the Gospel of Jesus, the disciples were thrown in jail. Despite their circumstances, the disciples never wavered from the conviction in their mission. When we have unshakable conviction in Jesus we experience deep persecution and God’s protection.

The disciples continued doing the ministry of the church together they were revered and honored for their faithfulness. As they were showing uncommon mercy to the people through miraculous healings, it enhanced their credibility, empowered relationships and elicited incredible power.

Jesus could foresee the potential setbacks the disciples would face upon Him leaving their physical presence after the resurrection. The disciples would be left with a bold calling to establish the church and spread the gospel in a world of non-believers. Jesus encourages them through it all to know their value, remember His promises, and live the mission to make His name known in all the earth. In the same way, Jesus has freed us up to live out our calling in our lives today.
