In Psalm 121 God shows us his deep love for us to protect us and forgive us from all our sins. No matter where we are in our relationship with him, we must accept his grace and rest in the security of his provision. The redeemed of the Lord should "say so!" Psalm 107 gives us a picture of redemption through Jesus. Jesus has bought us back, to free us from distress and to free us from captivity. We must recognize problem that is sin and cry out to God and tell it like it is. He looks beyond the mess to what is blessed. The men of the church have a particular responsibility to raise up their children as good fathers by showing them value and training them in godliness. In Psalm 18 we see a thankful David worshipping God for His faithfulness and provision. He says "the Lord is my strength." It seems for us that every time we begin to fight the battles and circumstances in lives with our own strength, we end up needing God's more and more. What we need to hear from God's voice today is this; God equips the faithful with strength for the battle. There are 3 key principles David seems to live by as he walks his journey with God. 1. Remain faithful to the call. 2. Remain devoted to the word. 3. Remain confident in His power. Receive the strength of God today and be equipped with strength for the battle.

Worship is a total life experience in which we are in constant communication with God. Worship is not confined to the music on a given sunday morning, but is about everything bringing glory to God in our lives. David's prayer in this Psalm is that God would renew a right Spirit within him. He is at the worst moment of his life after he commits adultery and has a man killed. The Holy Spirit is God's way of prompting us in our life. If we can remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit we will repent of our sinful ways and be a witness for him. One of the most important things we need to do is listen to God's voice for his direction. As we face big decisions, make plans and prepare for the future we should have the mind of Christ, listening for his voice. We should care more about what God thinks about us than others and get his opinion through reading and meditation on the word. As we hear God's voice we need to listen for his blessing, his pictures he would paint for us and his warnings he would give to us. Paul wrote Romans communicating his undying love for the Gospel and his total devotion to serve Jesus. As we celebrate Father's Day together, we realize one of the most important things we can do as men is serve. As Jesus was abandoned on the cross by those who had walked with him, His mother Mary stayed at the cross until his death. As Jesus breathed his last breath on the cross, he uttered these simple words, "It is finished." Through his death He accomplished victory for us as the church and for all mankind. What Jesus accomplished fulfilled scripture, paid our penalty, conquered sin and death and defeated the devil. Because of this we no longer have to live defeated lives but can proclaim "we are victorious." No matter what we are facing we have the victory and the gift of eternal life. We have all faced loneliness in our lives. Although you may feel lonely, you are not alone and Jesus declares this in his promise to be with us. The enemy wants to isolate us but we overcome loneliness by understanding who we belong to. To put it simply, Jesus owns us.
