Stephen Strasburg struck out nine batters in seven innings in a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies this afternoon in Citizens Bank Park, but the Washington Nationals dropped the second game of the doubleheader, 8-5 and had their eight-game win streak come to an end. 

Washington Nationals' right-hander Max Scherzer took a perfect game into the sixth inning before giving up a hit and he ended up giving up two runs total in the Nats' 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Citizens Bank Park.

The Washington Nationals handed the Pittsburgh Pirates, who started the series on an eight-game winning streak, three straight losses. 9-2 today in the nation's capital with Gio Gonzalez earning the win and the sweep in Nationals Park. Bryce Harper and Yunel Escobar homered in a nine-run first.

Washington Nationals' starter Max Scherzer retired the first 26 batters he faced in the nation's capital before a HBP with two down in the ninth spoiled his bid for a perfect game. He settled for a no-hitter of the Pittsburgh Pirates. 6-0 Nationals in the nation's capital. Congrats, Max.

The Pittsburgh Pirates came to Nationals Park with an eight-game win streak going, but Nats' right-hander Joe Ross and the Washington Nationals ended that streak with a 4-1 win in which the 22-year-old starter struck out 11 batters in seven-plus innings pitched. 

Washington Nationals' right fielder Bryce Harper suffered what Nats' skipper Matt Williams said was a "mild left hamstring strain" on a throw to home from right in the sixth inning of the Nationals' 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in Nationals Park.

A night after their 23-hit, 16-run explosion and 16-4 win, the Washington Nationals got shut out by the Tampa Bay Rays tonight in the nation's capital. 5-0 Rays final in Nationals Park. Jordan Zimmermann better, but no support from the Nats.

The Washington Nationals came out flat in the series opener in Tampa Bay and dropped a 6-1 decision to the Rays in Tropican Field.

The Washington Nationals took the third game of four with Milwaukee in Miller Park, beating the Brewers 7-2 tonight and rookie right-hander Joe Ross earned his first MLB win with eight strong innings on the mound in Wisconsin. Congrats, Joe. 

Aramis Ramirez was 3 for 4 with three doubles and five RBIs in the Milwaukee Brewers' 8-4 win over the Washington Nationals in Miller Park. Jordan Zimmermann struggled on the mound in his home state and was out after just 3 ? IP. Bryce Harper and Tyler Moore hit homers though...

The Washington Nationals jumped out to a 5-1 lead after three and a half in the series opener with the Milwaukee Brewers in Miller Park and ended up losing a 6-5 decision when Scooter Gennett drove in a run with a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth.

Nats' outfielder Michael Taylor hit a two-run home run in the eighth after the New York Yankees rallied to take a 4-2 lead, and the Washington Nationals went ahead 5-4 on an infield single by Denard Span in the top of the 11th before Drew Storen shut the door. 

The Washington Nationals dropped three of four games to the Chicago Cubs in the long-weekend series in the nation's capital after the Cubs took the series finale this afternoon in Nats Park. 6-3 final today in D.C. Jordan Zimmermann was not sharp today.

Washington Nationals' right-hander Joe Ross put together a solid effort in his MLB debut in D.C., but Chicago Cubs' righty Jason Hammel continued his career-long dominance of the Nats, improving to (9-0) against the Nationals. 4-2 final in the nation's capital. 

Danny Espinosa hit a three-run home run early. Michael Taylor, Denard Span, Wilson Ramos and Dan Uggla drove in runs and the Washington Nationals snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-5 win over the Chicago Cubs in the nation's capital. 

Washington Nationals' lefty Gio Gonzalez gave up two runs in a long first inning and the Chicago Cubs made them hold up in what ended up a 2-1 win in the series opener in the nation's capital. Nats' lack of offense hurts again.

Toronto Blue Jays' lefty Mark Buehrle tossed a complete game shutout and collected 18 groundouts along the way as the Jays took two of three from the Washington Nationals in the three-game set in the nation's capital. 8-0 final tonight in D.C. 

The Washington Nationals, led by a dominant Jordan Zimmermann, shut the Toronto Blue Jays out in this afternoon's 3-0 win in the series opener with the Toronto Blue Jays, but the Jays battled back against Max Scherzer to take the nightcap in the nation's capital, 7-3.

The Washington Nationals dropped an 8-2 decision to the Cincinnati Reds this afternoon and all three games of their weekend series in Great American Ball Park, falling to 28-22 on the year after today's loss.
