We must be witnesses to the power of God! In Acts 1 Jesus said to His disciples, "After the Holy Spirit has come upon you, YOU will receive POWER and YOU will be MY WITNESSES." In law, a witness is someone who has seen or experienced an event personally; you can't be a witness if you haven't experienced the event in question. It is the same with God, you can only be a witness to the power of God if you have experienced His power personally. We need to become witnesses. Cry out to God, ask Him to reveal Himself to you. My heart's one desire is to see Jesus, to experience His Glory here on earth. All through my early days, before I became a pastor, an evangelist, all the time I was growing up, when I was in school, when I was in church, Psalm 63:1-2 was the most important verse in my whole life! I said what David said, "Oh God, You are my God, I will seek for You from the early part of my life, I will search You out, Oh God, wherever You are, in Heaven, on earth, I will search for You, Oh God! I want to know who You are, I want to find You!" I want to see God's Power and Glory, not just in the sanctuary, but in the battlefield of my life; I’m desperate for His presence in the midst of my tribulation: my sickness, my financial trouble, in my prison cell. My cry to the Lord is show me Your glory. I want to see His glory as never before! The God that I serve, the God we sing about and worship - that God - I want to KNOW Him, I want to find Him, I want to SEE Him! Not just to sing, not just to worship - I want to SEE His Face, I

In the Lord's Prayer we are taught to say, 'Hallowed be Thy Name'. What does that mean? I have never understood until my time in prison for Bible smuggling. But it was as if the Lord said to me, "This is where you worship." But HOW could I in the circumstances I was in? I tried to 'praise' God through clenched teeth. Can you imagine?! I was in rebellion, there was no reality. HOW could I praise God in the depths of hell? Suddenly, as I began to say those words, 'Praise the Lord', it was if the roof of the prison opened. I could hear the angel choirs, I heard the music of Heaven, I sensed the glory of Heaven - something happened in that cell. The glory of God came down! It was as if I was transported into Heaven and the glory of God came on me. I leaped up off that stool and began to run around that cell, singing, shouting, "Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee, HOW great Thou art!" The glory of God  filled my soul. God is your Father! There was a time when I was in prison for Bible smuggling that I couldn't pray anymore. I cried out, "Oh God, if You don't hear me, I'd rather die, because life has no purpose, no meaning if You don't answer me." While I was still saying, "Oh God, I cannot pray anymore", I remembered the words in the Bible (I had no Bible in the prison - it was forbidden) when the disciples had asked Jesus how to pray, and He said, "When You pray say..." - and I began hesitantly to say those words, 'Our Father' - but as I did so, I began to argue, I cannot say 'our', that's plural - I'm alone in here, no family, no friends, no believers, how can I speak in the plural? When there is a crisis in our lives our only hope is Christ, our only strategy is prayer. You - we - have to get an answer from God! When Jesus was on the earth, people asked Him direct for what they wanted. - We have to do the same, but through prayer. What does the Bible say the ministry of Jesus is today? According to the Scripture the ongoing ministry of Jesus is to intercede on your behalf. Right now, Jesus is standing before the Father praying for you by name. Jesus is your personal intercessor. 'Jesus is at the right hand of God making intercession for us' (Romans 8:34). The Scripture also teaches, 'In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness; for when we do not know how to pray as we should,the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches our hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.'  'Holy You are Holy' used by kind permission of Vinesong

Wrestling with God is a question of learning how to pray. Anyone can 'pray', especially in a crisis. But it takes a real person of faith to get an answer. We must learn to prevail in prayer until the answer comes. In Genesis 32 the Bible days that Jacob wrestled with God all night; at dawn, God turned to Jacob and said, "As a prince you have power with God and with man, and have prevailed!" We're living in the last days, the days of the return of Christ, the days when we are going to see revival fire bursting upon the Church, poured on the Church, until the Church is going to be living and vibrant and working and believing and moving into spiritual victory - all in the preparation of the glorious return of Jesus. Those days are going to culminate with the sound like a trumpet, and that sound is going to echo from every building, and that trumpet will herald the return of Christ and suddenly in a blaze of Glory sweeping across the sky from the East to the West, Christ is going to take control, bind Satan, cast Him into a prison for 1000 years ... I'm prophesying what the prophets have been prophesying for 2000 years. I believe that this last great revival will begin amongst the Russian speaking peoples, sweep across Europe, and upon this revival, Christ will return, just as Hudson Taylor prophesied in 1889. Rejoice! Christ is risen, just as He said. Jesus has conquered the last enemy, and that enemy is death. Death has lost its sting, its pain. When Christ rose from the dead He demonstrated there is life after death. Jesus was the first to come to new life, and because He lives, we can live also. To us, Easter is not death but resurrection. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is essential if we are to be effective in our Christian witness. When I was a child, I prayed 3 months without receiving the Spirit. But I knew that without the power, the fire, the anointing of God, I could never see men's lives converted. At Easter we used to have three Pentecostal Conventions in London. I determined to go and not leave until I had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! The preaching was so long in the morning, there was no time to pray for people to receive the Holy Spirit! As a 13-year old I went up to those great men of God on the platform and said, "I only came to receive the fire, pray for me!" They took me to a small room, laid their hands on me, but their minds were on their lunch! I did not receive the Holy Spirit.  I was searching for something which does not come from men, the real power of God. We need to relearn what the Baptism in the Holy Spirit actually is. My father, (a great man of God, converted in 1905 during the Welsh Revival, a great Bible teacher), taught me when I preached as a boy of 13 and no one repented, that Jesus said, "When the Holy Spirit is come, HE will convict the world of sin and righteousness and of judgment to come!" He said, "Son, you haven't received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit yet!" It was a lesson which changed my life, because what I needed was the fire and the power of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, conversion and a changed life when I preach! I asked my father to lay hands on me. He did, but I didn't receive the Holy Spirit. As a result, I spent the next three months in an agony, 13 years old, crying out to God, fasting and praying that God would give me FIRE and POWER through the Holy Spirit. When finally, I received the Holy Ghost just days before my 14th birthday, it totally revoluntionised my life. From that moment God took control, things began to happe

We need to prevail in prayer until God answers. In Numbers 14:20 God says to Moses, "I have pardoned, according to YOUR word". Moses 'made it happen'! Do you see what the intercessor has done? Moses as the intercessor has challenged God so that instead of turning His back on His people because of their weakness, because of their sin, because of their failure to evangelise and their failure to win the world, God says, "Because of the intercessor I will renew My Covenant, I will renew My Power, I will renew My Glory. I want your faith in God to be unshakable; I want you to be confident in your relationship with Him. Jesus told us to call God 'our Father'; we are sons and daughters of God. I have written in my office, 'Think God, think big!' How big is God? How powerful is God? My God has the greatest power in heaven, earth and the whole of creation. There is nothing He cannot do! For my God there is no miracle too big, no question too hard, nothing is impossible. The Bible says that the things which are impossible with man are possible for God. If only you could understand the love God has for the sinner. The Bible says God places more priority on reaching the one lost soul, than the ninety nine who are safe. All of God's energy and passion is spent reaching that one lost person. Jesus didn't come to condemn, He came to seek and save the lost. 'Mercy' used by kind permission of www.vinesong.com  

Our circumstances can be changed; the Word of God cannot fail! When Jesus speaks, the miracle will happen! Jesus has power and authority in your life, power to set you free, power to heal you of every sickness, power to resurrect dead circumstances. Only believe, and the miracle will happen. There is power in the Name of Jesus to heal you from every sickness and disease. There is no miracle too great or too small. His power is without limit. When you call upon His Name you will be saved, healed and restored. There is power in the Name of Jesus to set you free: His Name is above every name, and at His Name every knee shall bow. It is not too late to receive your miracle. Your circumstances are not too far gone. Jesus has power to heal and resurrect. When Jairus found Jesus, he thought he just needed a healing miracle, but what Jesus had in mind was something far greater, He was going to resurrect Jairus's daughter.  'When I am weak You make me strong. Jesus offers you a glorious future. Whoever you are, if you will call on Jesus, He will answer your prayer. He will deliver you. He will heal your sickness. Jesus will take away your hurt and pain. The Lord is like a Father to His children, tender and compassionate. He is mindful of us, watching our every step. God has promised to take care of you 'as a father cares for his children'. The Bible even says that God knows every sparrow which falls to the ground, and even the hairs on your head are numbered - that is how close His relationship with you is! God wants us to come to Him for help. He will hear the faintest cry. Just as a mother learns how to recognise the different cries of her baby before it can even speak: she knows when it is hungry, tired, needs a nappy change, or just needs comfort, so God recognises the need you express by your every cry for help!
