Dennis Lockhart, previously the14th President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, discusses the topic of: “Crisis, Recession and Recovery: The Decade 2007-2016.” As the President and CEO, Lockhart oversaw all the bank's activity, including monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and payment services during a tumultuous time in our nation’s economy. Lockhart also speaks about his views on the current state of the economy and the short term outlook. Lockhart was previously on faculty at Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Affairs and was an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. He has also served as a managing partner for a boutique investment firm and as president of Heller International Group, among other positions. Lee Thomas, deputy commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office, discusses the economic impact and value that the Georgia film industry brings to the state of Georgia. The Georgia Department of Economic Development has successfully brought major motion pictures and television productions to the state, including “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” “The Blind Side,” “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” “Footloose,” “Fast 5,” “The Conspirator” and “Zombieland.” She also talks about the Film Tax Credit and other incentives that Georgia uses to bring these productions to the state. A native of Atlanta, Lee has worked for the Brooklyn Arts Council and earned a bachelor of art degree from UGA and an MFA in film studies from Georgia State University.

Derreck Kayongo, CEO of the Center for Civil and Human Rights, was born in Kampala, Uganda, just before Idi Amin Dada seized power in a military coup. As violence spread through the country and civil war erupted, Kayongo and his family became refugees in Kenya. He later immigrated to America and attended college. Though best known as a 2011 CNN Hero and founder of the Global Soap Project, Kayongo is a renowned expert in environmental sustainability and global health. In 2016, the Georgia State Senate passed a resolution recognizing Kayongo's incredible journey from refugee to CEO.

Steve Voorhees presented his thoughts on the packaging industry at the September 15th Terry Third Thursday event in Atlanta. Voorhees spoke about the hidden value of packaging and how it can be eye-catching, differentiating, and functional. He then spoke about the strength of the global packaging industry and the strategy for WestRock to capitalize on the opportunity. Voorhees serves as CEO of WestRock, one of the world's largest packaging companies with 39,500 employees in 30 countries. Previously, he was CEO of RockTenn. He has served in several executive leadership roles, including president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer and executive vice president. Before joining RockTenn, he served in operational and executive positions at Sonat Inc., a diversified energy company headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. Voorhees earned a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

M. Troy Woods, chairman and CEO of financial services company TSYS, presented his thoughts on the credit services industry at the Aug. 18 Terry Third Thursday event in Atlanta. Woods spoke about his company’s history and growth, charting its course from a division of Columbus Bank & Trust into a multinational corporation servicing more than 23 billion transactions across the globe in 2015. After his talk, Woods fielded audience questions, sharing his thoughts on merging corporate cultures, the prepaid credit card market, cybersecurity challenges and the launch of chip readers in America. Ansley has long been a leader in luxury real estate sales and construction in Atlanta. He has developed, built and sold more than $1 billion in real estate since graduating from Terry and sold over $425 million of houses in the last four years. Previously, he worked with Barry Real Estate and Harry Norman Realtors developing premiere projects in Atlanta, the Georgia coast and South Carolina. Ansley and his wife, Jen, live in Buckhead with their two children, Blakely and Beau. They are members of Northside Methodist Church and are very involved in the community.

Will Harris runs White Oak Pastures, the Georgia farm his family has operated since 1866 (five generations). Under his leadership, the farm has returned to an environmentally sustainable and high animal welfare farming system. After receiving an animal science degree from UGA, Harris returned home and began to implement a number of sustainable farming practices. Today his cattle, sheep, hogs, goats and poultry are rotated through White Oak Pastures in the Serengeti Plains rotational grazing model. The farm now utilizes solar panels and its beef, goat and lamb are grass-fed. White Oaks also holds the distinction of being the only farm in the U.S. to have both a red meat plant and poultry processing that have been approved by the USDA.

David Cummings is a lifelong entrepreneur. Charles Stokes joined the CDC Foundation as executive director when it began operating in 1995. Under his leadership, the foundation has grown from a two-person team to a staff of more than 100 professionals managing approximately 250 public health programs. Prior to joining the CDC Foundation, he worked for 22 years with the Missouri Department of Health. Stokes also serves as vice chairman of the Atlanta-based Raoul Foundation Board. In 1989 he received the Noble J. Swearingen Award from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials for excellence in administrative management. He also received the 1995 Public Health Leadership Award from St. Louis University, and in 2013 he received the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Health-Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement award. He is a graduate of St. Louis University and obtained his master’s degree in education from Lincoln University.

Tony Maddox is executive vice president and managing director of CNN International, which reaches more than 286 million households and hotel rooms worldwide. Ed Heys ​(BBA '83) is the Atlanta Managing Partner of Deloitte LLP. Deloitte works with a wide variety of Fortune 500 clients. Heys manages a 2,300-employee operation that spans audit, tax, consulting and advisory services across a range of industries, including consumer and industrial products, financial services, healthcare and technology.

Saxby Chambliss served in the U.S. Senate for two terms and in the U.S. House of Representatives for four terms. Georgia Trend magazine, which regularly named him one of its Most Influential Georgians, called him "a highly visible and well-respected presence in Washington," and noted that he earned "a reputation as an affable but straight-talking lawmaker." Chambliss was first elected to Congress to represent Georgia's 8th District in 1994. Throughout his legislative career, he has been recognized numerous times by the public and private sectors for his work on agriculture, defense, budget and national security issues. During his tenure in the Senate, he served as a member of the Armed Services Committee; the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; the Rules Committee; and his leadership and experience on homeland security and intelligence matters earned him an appointment to the Senate Committee on Intelligence, where he served as vice chairman from 2011 to 2014.

Riley is a long-time employee of Cox Enterprises, which owns the Journal-Constitution. He started his career in 1983 at the Dayton Daily News in Ohio while a student at the University of Dayton. During his time in Ohio, Kevin had many roles for Cox, including editor of four daily Ohio newspapers, publisher of the Springfield News-Sun and general manager for Cox’s Ohio online operations. He also writes a column in Sunday editions of the Journal-Constitution.

In her role, she oversees the more than 4,000 ice cream shops, bakeries, restaurants and cafés in the United States and 60 countries that FOCUS runs under the Moe’s, Shlotzsky’s, Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, McAllister’s Deli, Seattle’s Best Coffee and Cinnabon brands. In addition, Cole is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, and is starting a foundation to fund creative, sustainable approaches to education and self-sufficiency. She holds the distinction of being of only two foodservice company leaders listed on CNBC’s Next 25 List Innovators, Leaders and Disruptors for 2014, which is dominated by tech start-ups and a few financial groups and Fortune 50 companies. She is also co-founder of Changers of Commerce, a leading social movements agency.

Mitchell plays a critical role in developing and advancing the economic development strategy, in partnership with Invest Atlanta, to implement the Atlanta BeltLine's mission. Previously, Mitchell served as the director of emerging industry and led the Innovation Department with the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA). Prior to SEDA, he held roles with the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Coastal Regional Commission and accrued significant leadership and management experience in the telecommunications industry during his 13-year tenure with Comcast. A Savannah native, Mitchell is a graduate of the Leadership Georgia Class of 2013 and was named one of Savannah’s Rising Stars by Savannah Magazine in 2014. He has served on the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Board of Directors, the Leadership Savannah Board of Directors, the Savannah Poverty Reduction Initiative’s Policy Committee and Work Development Task Force, and the Greater Savannah International Alliance Task Force.

Under his guidance, the Bulldogs have earned two national championships, seven Southeastern Conference crowns, 54 team tournament titles, and several squad and individual records. In 2012, Haack also became UGA Director of Golf. In that capacity, he serves as the liaison between the Athletic Association and the UGA Golf Course, oversees the Boyd Center and the adjacent practice facilities, and is available as counsel to women's coach Josh Brewer. Haack was inducted into the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Associate Hall of Fame in December 2012, joining Georgia predecessors Howell Hollis and Dick Copas. The recipient of the AJGA Sportsmanship Award, Haack graduated from Newnan High School in 1978. He attended West Georgia College, where he played on the golf team. Haack and his wife, Tori, have a son, Charlie, and a daughter, Katie.

As president and CEO of Atlanta Hall Management, Stephenson is responsible for guiding the broader efforts to construct, develop and operate the 94,000-sqare foot attraction known as the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience in downtown Atlanta. Prior to joining the Hall, Stephenson was a corporate attorney at the law firm of Troutman Sanders. He joined the firm in 2000 and was named a partner in 2007. Having served as counsel to a number of clients in the hospitality, sports, and entertainment industry, Stephenson was retained by project organizers in 2009 to assist with efforts to move the College Football Hall of Fame to Atlanta from its previous home in South Bend, Indiana. Stephenson was born and raised in Atlanta. He holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia.

Reggie Bradford, an Internet and social media entrepreneur, serves as senior vice president for product development at Oracle. He leads a team responsible for developing applications for Oracle Social Cloud, a service that helps companies manage their relationships with customers on social media. Prior to that role, Bradford founded the cloud-based social marketing platform Vitrue and held executive management positions at TANDBERG Television, N2 Broadband and WebMD.
