06/01/2017 Duração: 21minThis is Loretta Owens. Loretta Owens has been a professional Perfume Spritzer (also known as a Fragrance Model) in the Fragrance department of Sephora for 16yrs. She's been working at the Westfield Century City location in Los Angeles for over 10yrs. In 2015, Los Angeles Magazine did a piece on Loretta. The article was written by Freelance Journalist Molly Longman and is titled "LA Archetype: Perfume Spritzer". The interview encompassed Loretta's passion for fragrance. Her knowledge of top, middle, and base notes. Her recollection of each scent in her store by nose which is over 100 fragrances and her love for her clients through listening to them and understanding their needs. The articled portrayed Loretta's passion and bright personality so effervescently that I had to interview her. Thank you to LA Magazine and Molly Longman for connecting me with Loretta. This was my dream interview of 2016. I really hope you enjoy getting to know and learn from Loretta. Link to article "LA Archetype: Perfume Spritzer

Thanksgiving with Gage Agnew
23/11/2016 Duração: 48minIn the spirit of Rodney Dangerfield's "What's a bath without bubbles?" What's Thanksgiving without Gage? Gage Agnew is co-host of the Almost Adults Podcast and a very generous co-host at that. Holding to a more traditional long form interview, Gage and I talk about his moving to Los Angeles at 21, not knowing a soul, going on the WTF Podcast and asking Marc Maron what the line is between networking and talent, and then ultimately how he has been finding his way in this crazy game we call show business. We also talk about Gage's sweating, men being dominating at grocery stores, and whether or not Gage relates to being a Millennial. A big shout out to the Thank You Internet Podcast and hosts David Spencer and Michael Hunter who are the reason Gage and I are friends in the first place. Happy Thanksgiving!! Life Of Purpose
11/11/2015 Duração: 31minSal Valdez was a teacher for 30 years in the LA Unified School District. He spent 15 years working as an elementary school teacher and 15 more in special education. While some teachers brought their briefcases to school, Sal brought his guitar. He played a lot of music and read a lot to his students. He also prided himself on letting each student know he cared for them. It wasn’t unusual for Sal to make a home visit just to spend time talking with the parents and getting to know them. Sal was also very involved with community organizing. He held a position with the teachers union where he got to work on policy. He was also a marathon runner and an avid hiker. Sal felt he was at the apex of his career when in 2006 while on vacation with his wife Martha in the Sequoias he suffered a massive stroke. My Bread Lady
14/10/2015 Duração: 42minMany of us tend to have a love hate relationship with bread. We love it but our tummies no likey. When it comes to Delices De France, an organic bakery stand in Los Angeles, it's a whole different story. And the story begins with Rania. The even greater news, I got to hear a bit of Rania's story and I was surprised to find that for such a flourishing young business owner she had never planned on ever having a business. RiSE
30/09/2015 Duração: 44minIn October 2014, the RiSE Lantern Festival was celebrated in the United States. And we’re not talking about paper lanterns on the ground lining a walk way. We’re talking about R2D2 size, giant capsules of light that float up up up and away. Traditionally, this religious festival happens once a year in Chiang Mai, Thailand. But with the help of the Bureau Land Management to acquire permits and working with engineers to design lanterns with ultra-specific burn rates, the RiSE Lantern Festival was able to be celebrated just outside of Vegas in the Mojave Desert. It just so happened that whilst dreaming up this podcast, in 2014, I happened to stumble upon an ad for RiSE on Facebook. The picture itself was intoxicating and I had a very real Liz Lemon thought. “I want to go to there.” And I did go to there. In this episode, you will hear stories from people about what brought them to the festival and why letting paper lanterns go into the sky means more than letting paper lanterns go into the sky. Thank you to Wesl

72HourBag
09/09/2015 Duração: 29minCinematographer Giovani Lampassi was filming on location in Louisiana in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit. He witnessed first hand the devastation of the people. How quickly their belongings became reduced to what could be carried in a garbage bag and it got him thinking. How could he be prepared for if and when there is an earthquake in Los Angeles? Giovani has worked on shows like Party Down and Up All Night. He’s currently on hit Fox show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And he’s known amongst his friends and colleagues as being uber prepared. Most specifically the apple of the eye of his preparedness is having a 72 hour earthquake ready bag in the back of his car. He is so passionate about this in fact that he’s dedicated a whole blog to it! He encourages all of his co-workers and family members to have one, and He’s spent hours and hours of his personal time combing over the details of his bag and perfecting it to a science. In this episode, you’ll find out what is a 72 hour bag, what goes in one, and why, and how Gi
