Going in to game 5 the Blues found themselves down 3-1 and facing elimination. The Blues started Dimitrij Jaskin in place of the injured Alex Steen and it would pay off early in the second period. Jaskin would give the Blues a 1-0 lead just 5 minutes and 43 seconds in to the 2nd period..  Despite the great play of Jake Allen the Predators would get a power play goal to tie it at 1-1 with just 6 minutes and 10 seconds left in the 2nd period. Jaden Schwartz would give the Blues a 2-1 win on a great rebound goal just 25 sec onds in to the 3rd period. Game 6 will be played on sunday May7th in Nashville.

Game 4 of this round 2 stanley cup playoff series would be an intense battle between two hot goalies in Jake Alen and Pekka Rinne. The first 2 periods were filled by quality chances by both teams offenses. The first goal would not be scored until the 3rd period by Ryan Ellis of Nashville. The Predators would add another goal to take a 2-0 lead late in the 3rd period. The Blues tried to come back, but fell short 2-1. Game 5 will be played on Friday May 5th in St. Louis.

We take a look back at game 3 of the second round and a look ahead to game 4. The Blues struggled to get anything flowing with their offense while Nashville threw everything, but the kitchen sink at Jake Allen. Allen kept the Blues in the game, but the Predatorsa won 3-1.

In this recap we will see Vladamir Tarasenko take charge of the game and score 2 goals to lead the Blues to a 3-2 win and tie the sereies up at 1-1. This would be a very physical game as it is obvious there is no love lost between these 2 teams. Game 3 will be played in Nashville on Sunday the 30th at 2:00 p.m. 

Round 2 game 1 of the western confernce series between the St. Louis Blues and the Nashville Predators would be an up and down game for both teams. The Predators would take a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd period only to relenquish it and allow the Blues to tie it at 3 midway through the 3rd Period. Nashvile would have the final say and win the game on a soft goal by Vernon Fiddler with about 4 and a half minutes left in the game.

The Blues would take an early 2-0 lead in the first period and eventually a 3-1 lead midway through the third period. However, the Wild would get 2 goals in the third to take the game to overtime. The Blues would get the game and series winning goal from the former 10th overall pick in the 2009 nhl draft Magnus Paajarvi.

The Blues were looking to close out the series with a win in game 4, but the Wild and Devan Dubnyk had other plans and beat the Blues 2-0. Game 5 will be back in Minnesota on Saturday the 19th.

In game 3 the Wild were looking to get their first win in this 1st round series against the Blues. The Blues came out from the drop of the puck and dominated the Wild in the first period. The Blues took the lead early in the frist period on a goal by Colton Parayko. The Wild started to come alive in the second period and tied the game up on a rebound goal by Charlie Coyle. Jake Allen stood tall after the game tying goal and continued his dominance in to the third period. The Wild tested Jake often in the third, but could not get anything past him. The Blues took the lead on a late goal by Jaden Schwartz and added a empty net goal to win the game 3-1. The Blues are one win away from winning the series.

A complete recap of St. Louis Blues Vs Minnesota Wild 2017 NHL playoff  Round 1 Game 2  The game was played on 04/14/17 at the Xcell Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. The Wild were looking to even the series at one game a piece before heading to St. Lousi for game 3. It was not meant to be as Jake Alen was strong in net for the Blues and Jaden Schwartz scored the tie breaker and game winner late in the 3rd period. Which gave the Blues a 2-1 win.

A complete recap of St. Louis Blues Vs Minnesota Wild 2017 NHL playoff  Round 1 Game 1  The game was played on 04/12/17 at the Xcell Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. The Wild carried the play and peppered Blues goalie Jake Allen with 52 shots. St. Louis got the 2-1 victory in overtime on a goal by defensemen Joel Edmundson.

A complete game recap on the St. Louis Blues Vs Colorado Avalanche. This game was played on 04/09/17 at Scottrade Center, MO. The Blues would take an early lead in the first, but Colorado came back in the second with 2 goals, taking a 2-1 lead in to the third period. The Blues battled back with goals by Vladimir Tarasenko and recently signed VladImir Sobotka to take the lead and win the game 3-2. 

A recap and commentary on the St. Louis Blues Vs Carolina Hurricanes. This game was played on 04/08/17 at the PNC  Arena  in Raleigh, NC The Blues were looking to tie down the 3rd place position in the central division and playoffs in the western conference. They just needed 1 point to accomplish this. Both teams would trade goals until the shoot out. When Vladamir Tarasenko scored to secure the 5-4 win for the Blues.

A recap and commentary on the St. Louis Blues Vs Florida Panthers. This game was played on 04/06/17 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL. The Blues were looking to continue their hold on 3rd place in the central division. The game would be back and forth until the 3rd period when the Blues would overwhelm the Panthers and eventually win 6-3.

A recap and commentary on the St. Louis Blues Vs Winnipeg Jets. This game was played on 04/04/17 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO. The Blues would take a 1-0 lead with a goal by Alex Pietrangelo just 35 seconds in to the first period. The Jets took over the game early in the second period with 3 goals in just a little over one minute. They would not look back and win the game 5-2.  The Jets were lead by Patrick Laine with 2 goals.

A complete game recap on the St. Louis Blues Vs the Nashville Predators. This game was played on 04/02/17 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO. The Blues clinched a playoff berth with a shootout lose against the Avalanche last Friday the 31st. Coming in to this game the Predators and Blues were tied with 91 points each. However, mathematically the Blues were in 3rd place in the central division while the Predators where holding the 8th and final wild card playoff spot. With a win the Predators would secure the 8th wild card spot. This was a hard fought physical game from the drop of the puck. Jake Allen was a key to the Blues win by stopping 35 of 36 shots on goal leading the Blues to a 4-1 win.

A complete game recap on the St. Louis Blues Vs Colorado Avalanche. This game was played on 03/31/17 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Co. With a win, overtime lose, or shootout lose the Blues would clinch a playoff berth. The Avalanche came out fast and put pressure on the Blues and goalie Jake Allen throughout the game. We would go in to overtime tied at 1-1. With less than 40 seconds left in OT both goalies made spectacular saves to put this game in to a shootout. The Avalanche would get the shootout win 2-1. With the shootout lose the Blues did clinch a playoff berth.

A complete recap with highlights, interviews, and commentary of St. Louis Blues Vs Arizona Coyotes game. The game was played on 03/29/17 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Az. This would be the Blues and Coyotes 3rd game against each other in the last 11 days. The Blues were the winners of the previous two, 3-0 on the 18th and 4-1 on the 27th of this month. The Blues peppered Coyotes rookie goaltender Louise Domingue with 43 shots and pulled out a 3-1 victory.

The Coyotes came in to this game with no playoff aspirations for this season. The young defense continues to grow for Arizona and is considered one of the best up and coming defensive corps in the NHL. The game started slow for both teams The Blues finally took over the game midway through the second period and eventually won 4-1.

A recap and commentary on the St. Louis Blues Vs Calgary Flames. This game was played on 03/25/17 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. This game would be a goalie battle between two former team mates, Brian Elliot for the Flames and Jake Allen of the Blues. It was a physical game from the start to finish. With the Flames and Brian Elliot would pull out an overtime win 3-2.
