Prayer Champions, while we are insulated in this 'holding pattern' or COVID-19 Pandemic, we pray. And as we pray we can declare to the Lord, YOU are our shepherd. LORD we shall not want nor be in lack. YOU allow us to lie down in green pastures; YOU lead us beside the still waters. YOU restore our souls YOU lead us in the paths of righteousness For YOUR name’s sake. Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil; For You are with us; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort us.

Prayer Champions, during this COVID-19 Pandemic we must be proficient in different types and forms of prayer to fit the situation at hand. Prayer Champions, we must know when to call upon others for additional power in agreement through prayer partnerships, triads, and circles. Additionally, there may be times to proclaim a fast for a particular petition or occasions when prophetic prayer is employed. The best way to know which strategy to use is to turn to the Bible. Even though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.   The weapons we use are not carnal but mighty in God to pull down strongholds, arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.  Our weapons are faith laced, powerful prayer fueled by the Word of Almighty God. Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 6 that we will encounter struggles and challenges that are beyond our human capacity to handle. Prayer Champions, as we continue to shelter in place during this COVID-19 Pandemic, we need godly wisdom to make good decisions about when it is safe to move about in public again. I want to urge you to take the social distancing advice seriously. Please, please, please, don’t put other people’s lives at risk. Keep your distance. The advice about social distancing is designed to saves lives. A younger woman who thought she was doing a good deed by taking some things to an older woman’s home was now infected with the coronavirus. She was a-symptomatic when she visited but could have also infected, the older 68-year-old woman who is also a cancer survivor. Thankfully the older woman's test came back that she does not have it. Praise God! If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5, NKJV

Prayer Champions, we have no idea what life will be like when we come out of this COVID-19 pandemic. Maybe there is still fear and anxiety about whether or not this virus will strike your home. Maybe there is concern for someone who is sick or for when this sheltering in place can end. Whatever the case, we must continue to call on the name of Jesus. God’s Word Translation of Psalm 91:15 says, When you call to me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will save you and honor you.

Re-Broadcast. Prayer Champions even in times like these, our strategy is to continue in prayer. Never have we ever seen anything like this in our lifetime. Because of the coronavirus we are to remain in our homes with no social contact to stop the spread of this horrible disease. Many of us may feel helpless because we are searching for answers and are seeking God’s protection for ourselves and our loved ones. We are praying for our nation and those on the front line who are witnessing first-hand the horrors of this disease and the effects it is having on all areas of our lives. So we seek the Lord in prayer. We pray the very words of scripture to build up ourselves in our most holy faith and to strengthen our resolve to stand in the gap interceding for our world in prayer. And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel. 2 Samuel 24:25,NKJV

Prayer Champions, I want you to just breathe. Take a deep breath, release all of your tension, and breathe. During this pandemic, some are having a tough time sleeping, with no appetite or just the opposite, by nervously eating everything they can get. First and foremost – we must pray.  We pray specifically and daily about whatever thing is troubling us. If it is a lack of sleep, if it is fear, if it is loneliness, we will ask God for help in that area. Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2,  Amplified. Today, instead of a song of praise, we will use the following breathing exercise to relax and let go of the stress before we pray.

Prayer Champions, as we start another month living in the midst of this coronavirus pandemic, many of us are dealing with grief. How many under the sound of my voice know someone personally who has died due to covid 19? As the scientist predict that the number will continue to grow, and we hear of news reports of death totals, there are still reports of those who have survived the virus and are recuperating. This means that we must continue to pray, Prayer Champions. We must continue to seek God’s protection. We must continue to ask for healing for those who have been stricken with the virus. We must continue to trust God and hold fast to our faith. Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful. Prayer Champions, our response to the coronavirus and all that is happening around us is to pray! Never in all of our life have we ever seen anything like this. But, we will not panic, we will not cast away our confidence, and we will not fear. Instead, we put all of our concerns on the altar and ask for God's help. Because God loves us, we do not face this pandemic alone.  With God’s love, we are equipped to meet each new day and the challenges they bring. This love is so full and complete that we have the authority to go boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy.

Making faith declarations are acts of confidence and trust that says no matter the circumstances in our lives, we know that God has heard our prayers and will bless our lives with abundance. Prayer Champions, prophetic prayer is prompted by the Holy Spirit. Often it comes to warn us of danger, to guide us when we need direction, or to give clarification when there is confusion. Prophetic prayer allows us to seek God before we make hasty decisions or when we face challenges that seem too big to handle. Often times, this type of prayer will bring peace in the midst of a storm and serves to remind us that God is with us and will never leave us. With God for us, who can stand against us as we ask our Savior to heal our land!

Prayer Champions, we have forgiveness from God for all of our mistakes and sin if we ask for it. We repent or make the decision to stop doing the things we know are wrong and God will wipe the slate clean. We are no longer guilty and there is no condemnation. This means that our prayers will not be hindered because we come to God with clean hands and pure motives. We have the assurance that God loves us and will not forsake us. This prayer is a vehicle we can use to affirm our fresh start!

Because God loves us, we can stand on the promises in the Holy Word that bestows upon us favor, honor, deliverance, peace, comfort, joy, and victory in every situation. God does not change his mind about whom he chooses and blesses. Prayer Champions, while we are waiting for things to manifest in our lives or for our next ministry assignment, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to God. We resist the urge to give up or to become discouraged. Instead, we continue to press onward. "But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired." Prayer Champions,  like so many of you, I was stunned to hear of the helicopter crash on Sunday that ended the lives of 9 people. My heart went out to the families and loved ones who are now grieving. When we are rendered speechless, searching for the words to adequately express the pain and sorrow in my heart while at the same time expressing hope, we have to turn to scripture and pray. Today we pray for the families of Kobe & Giana Bryant, John, Kerri & Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah & Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan.  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2  Corinthians 1:3-4, NKJV,
