  • A Biblical Response to Uncertain Times

    15/03/2020 Duração: 40min

Our world, our nation, our communities, and our church…we all find ourselves in new territory…beyond the map…off the beaten path. We’ve never been in a situation quite like this before. It’s an uncertain and ambiguous time for leadership, parenting, medicine, business, finance, education…every facet of life. It’s human nature to “huddle” together in times of uncertainty. Historically, in catastrophic moments like war or like the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, we were drawn to be together. We want to connect. We want community. We finally realize our deep need for each other. Research has shown that in nearly every significant moment of national uncertainty…whether it was the Great Depression or the more recent Great Recession or in times of war or after 9/11, attendance to church and attendance to movie theaters rises dramatically. Why? People go to the movies in times of crisis to escape the harshness of reality. People go to church to find refuge and connect with the eternal, something that tran

  • Known By God

    08/03/2020 Duração: 45min

As we think about that phrase “For the one,” I want you to be tuned in to God’s heart for you. The whole story of the bible is the story of God’s pursuit of us. From the beginning to the end, no matter what page you pick, every smaller story is one piece of the bigger narrative. And if you boil the whole bible down to one phrase…it is the story of God’s passionate pursuit of broken people so he can love us, restore us, and be in a relationship with us. He wants to truly “know” us.I want us to think about God’s heart for us, in these terms, If you’re a Christ-follower, He “knows” you fully, intimately, and personally. But what does it mean to be known by God?

  • Divine Order and The Supernatural Power of “First Things”

    01/03/2020 Duração: 45min

Are you calibrating your entire life by the metrics of Jesus? Is He the fuel that drives the engine of your life? Or has life become so full of everything else that he’s been pushed off to the side, becoming an afterthought? If he’s become an afterthought, that’s not wrong just because it grieves Him; in the end, it keeps you from experiencing your best life.Last weekend, we briefly looked at the promise Jesus made in Matthew 6:But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. - Matthew 6:33 NIVHere’s the promise: The very things we’re chasing that have displaced God from a place of priority in our life will eventually come to us in the right way, at the right time, and bring more fulfillment, that is, if we seek Him and His kingdom FIRST. There is an “order” that shows honor. And when you get the order right, it unlocks supernatural blessings. You’re going to be tempted over the next few minutes to minimize this conversation as one of those “been there, done

  • For the ONE

    23/02/2020 Duração: 44min

On November 10th, 2019, we had one united service in the Curtis Culwell Center that culminated the launch of our Unfinished Vision Initiative. We knew the day would be significant, and Pastor Bryan had a message burning in his heart, but I had no idea how one simple sermon illustration would become a battle cry that would shape the destiny of this church. For those of you who were there, it will be a shared experience we will never forget. In a world that is spiraling downward faster than we could ever imagine, the church is the lifeboat that rescues the perishing. Here’s the question we asked ourselves that day: Do we have enough lifeboats?Toward the end of the message, Pastor Bryan started calling people forward to get in small stationed lifeboats upfront in the arena. We crammed as many people as we could over the course of several minutes. His plea during that time was “Just One More!” Surely we can get “one more.” As people tried to press in anywhere, there was room, and it was apparent many would be left

  • How To Be a Difference Maker

    16/02/2020 Duração: 47min

Your most significant kingdom impact will not necessarily be a what, but a who.All of us have opportunities to develop the people around us. We may think, well, I'm not a pastor. You might say, I'm not some prominent leader in some significant leadership position, but all of us have different relationships where we can make a difference. Whether you're the boss of your company or department, a coach or a teacher, a parent, grandparent, brother, or sister, perhaps you lead a Bible study, still all of us have an opportunity to be a difference-maker by developing the people around us.Who's going to be a better version of themselves because you came into their life? Who's going to be more effective in what they do? Who will still be in the game a year from now, three years from now, five years from now, simply because you chose to encourage them to never give up?If you find yourself saying, I can't make a difference, this message is for you. Pastor Scotty's scriptural study isn&

  • Integrity

    09/02/2020 Duração: 42min

You could have so many leadership qualities active in your life, but if you lack integrity, it would undermine the combined impact of every other quality. Your integrity is more important than your gifts and talents, your money and position, the size of your network or your reputation. Listen to the words of the Psalmist:Psalm 15:1-2 NLT1 Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord?Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?2 Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Our culture is absolutely obsessed with appearance. There are even companies that you can hire to help you manage your image. But God is not impressed by external images. He couldn’t care less about how you look. He doesn’t judge a person by their appearance, achievements, accomplishments, acquisitions, education, or wealth.God is more concerned about the authentic internal you, the purity and integrity of your heart.

  • Initiative

    02/02/2020 Duração: 45min

The big dream is often so overwhelming that you don’t even know where to start. You’re paralyzed by the magnitude of it, so you never get around to doing anything productive about it. You sit around waiting on your lucky break or some blessing to fall from heaven. You’ll never do anything until you give yourself permission to dream small. What’s an initial step? It is a small thing that is possible to take the initiative to tackle, to move you forward to what God has put in your heart. There are some cultural trends, even church trends, and belief systems,…that will kill your personal drive and initiative. In this message, we will look at this from a practical perspective, a biblical perspective, and then we want you to see what initiative it has to do with the gospel and being a follower of Jesus.

  • Relationships

    26/01/2020 Duração: 46min

Your ability to foster and maintain quality and meaningful relationships will be one of the most significant factors that will determine success or failure in every area of your life. Relationships are unavoidable. And if you’re bad at them, you will sabotage friendships, family, career aspirations; literally, everything will be impacted by the quality of relationships in your life.We want to look at this from a biblical perspective, as we have each of these qualities so far. But first, I want you to see what everyone else is discovering. Leaders in the field of education and leaders in business have realized what Jesus has taught all along; that quality and meaningful relationships are crucial to success. There are two often sited data points discovered by Gallup after thousands and thousands of interviews with employees. Here’s what Gallup found:1. Most often, people don’t leave jobs. They leave their manager or boss. This is a relationship issue. Here’s the second item their research showed:2. The number one
