The promise of Immanuel in Isaiah 7 is fulfilled in Jesus. Jesus is our Immanuel. Immune means God with us. We celebrate Christmas because God kept His promise. In this sermon we talk about the love of God and what that really means for the Christian and the non-Christian.

Advent hope is the story of the God is who is there and the God that willingly chooses to step into this world with the goal of making all things new in Him again. During advent we are reminded that in this tragic and broken world that things will not always remain broken. God in Christ will come to heal broken people damaged by the reality of sin. He is the God who draws near to each of us.

The 2016 presidential election is now over, and, in what very few could ever have imagined, Donald Trump is elected President of the United States. No matter what our differences are politically, surely we can all agree that this campaign has been demoralizing and even traumatizing for most of the country. Now what? What do we say? What should be the posture of the church? WE don’t have all the answers but we know its time for us, the church, to get back to what we were meant to be and what were called to do. Jesus is on his throne, He is the true King, He is the one we pledge allegiance to. This ought to comfort us is because Jesus left his throne to love persons not like him. May we follow in his steps.

The Bible assumes money belongs to God therefore it goes to great lengths to give us a correct understanding of how to view and use money. This is especially true in the Proverbs. The question Proverbs asks: “Do I control money, or does money control me?”

The book of Proverbs says a lot about friendship. It won’t help you find friends. But Proverbs will help you be a better friend. And the best friends usually have the best friends. Proverbs invites us to ask three questions relative to friendship: Are you fake? Are you foul? Are you faithful?

In Proverbs, we have wisdom for our emotions – our turbulent emotions, our negative emotions, our dead emotions, our distorted emotions. We need the emotional life of Christ. In this sermon, we'll look at and examine fear, anger, envy, and joy.

The vision at Redemption City Church is that it would become a place that honors and promotes marriage no matter what culture says or feels. That by the grace of God marriages in this church will flourish for the glory of God and the good of the city. Here is how Proverbs can help us and how wisdom makes all the difference in the world.

If we’re honest, humility doesn’t come easy to us. Pride is way too easy. We really love ourselves. Yet, the theme of humility is pervasive throughout the book of Proverbs. This book never stops begging us to have a teachable spirit. The Bible is so clear on this as well. In this sermon we explore what humility is and how to cultivate it on our life.

Words matter and Proverbs shows us why our words matter and how to speak redemptively in our relationships, in the church, and in culture.

All of us face daily pressures that make or break us.Wisdom makes all the difference whether you make or break. In Proverbs 9, nn one side, a house stands open, with an elegant lady named Wisdom inviting us in. On the other side of the road, a house stands open, with a seductive lady named Folly inviting us in. Which way will we turn? What’s your decision?

What is the blessed life? What is your vision of the good life? We often define the blessed life in relation to what we do or what we have. According to Proverbs 8 the blessed life isn’t measured in stuff or accomplishments but in wisdom. In a city like Boston we need to be reminded that what makes life meaningful isn’t money, power, success, good education, or fun experiences. What makes life meaningful is the beauty of Christ. Proverbs 8 is about God giving us a whole new way of seeing everything.

Your sexuality matters, whether married or single. Being a man is a gospel privilege, and being a woman is a gospel privilege. What we are is about the gospel. That’s why we need to learn gospel sexuality. Proverbs 6-7, the father counsels his son about this massively significant area of life. The counsel is addressed to a son but applies equally to women.
