Luke 9:23-26 - We saw in the preceding verses that Jesus asked a very important question to His disciples. Like them, you must also answer that question. After their confession, Jesus then told His disciples more. He told them what every follower of Him must do. He told them 3 things. 1) Deny one’s self. 2) Take up His cross. 3) Follow Jesus. After your confession, have you done these things? Have you denied yourself? Is Jesus the center of your life or is it you? Is the gospel your passion? Have you committed to taking up His cross? Have you committed to following Him? Only by hearing and doing these things can we find our proper place in His rest. Make His will and His purpose your desire and your action.

Luke 9:46-56 - Lessons of Greatness. Jesus used 3 events to teach His disciples the lessons of greatness. 1. V46-48 - How to be the greatest for God. 2. V49 - Exclusivity - God uses people outside of our immediate group for the furthering of His kingdom. 3. V51-53 - Show mercy to others. Jesus told us that in order for us to become great, we must become the servant of others. Jesus came and served us. Look at the cross and see how He came to serve you and me.

Luke 9:56-62 - These passages are some of the most radical in the New Testament. How many really desire to follow Jesus? What does it really take to follow Jesus? Have you responded to Jesus by "me first" or is your response Him first?

Luke 10:1-24 - What is the essentials when it comes to Missions? 1) Pray! 2) Go! 3) Trust in God for His provision. 4) We are called to specific things. 5) Leave the results upto the Lord. 6) Re-entry: Rejoice that your name is written in heaven!
