Jay allegedly HATES these Michael Bay Transformer movies, yet can't seem to stay away from the theater on their opening weekends. STOP THE PRESS!! Jay has been reading DC COMICS(?!!!??!) In this first edition of I Mini The Fool (recorded June 10th) since the beginning of the year, well, there's more comic talk (no joke, Jay has been reading DC!), gaming talk, Jay's and illy's opinions of Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Logan, and other random updates on what the guys have been up to, since the last time you heard em on the Graffiti Bridge episode of Deathcakes.

On the fiftieth episode of Deathcakes, which just so happens to land shortly beyond the one year anniversary of the death of Prince, Jay & illy throw back a few and pay tribute(...?) to the fallen icon by watching 1990's "Graffiti Bridge", the oft-maligned and probably better off forgotten sequel to the cult classic that was "Purple Rain". Prince fan and friend of the Network, Ryan Warnberg (Minneapolis native and host of Bodega Box Office), lays down his funky weapon, joins them on the pod and adds his brand of film enthusiasm and a bit of hometown spin to the discussion!

The KMJM history lesson continues into the awesome 90's years, through to its eventual format change and frequency relocation during that fateful, post-Telecommunications Act era of the late 90s. Jay & illy can speak on all of the ups and downs firsthand because they weren't fairweather friends. They were there til the end. Even through stormy weather, time and time again.

In this first edition of I Mini The Fool 2.0 for 2017, Jay & illy bring No Jibba-Jabba FM back from its programming sabbatical with a look back at their entertainment and pop culture interests and highlights from the previous year. How did 2016 stack up against 2015? Contrary to the widespread belief that 2016 sucked, the guys both personally had it much better this time around. In the final segment, however, they switch into Deathcakes attire and pay tribute to the fallen celebrity icons of their childhood. Jay and illy make reading a family affair, kick some fresh raps, hustle stars and beat the devil out of a few paintbrushes, all while sitting back and letting Norm do all the work. In other words, the PBS madness continues with the guys revisiting even more of the station's 80's and 90's children's programming as well as some of the offerings for adult viewers. They GUAR-AHN-TEE this is a great episode, but you don't have to take their word for it...  

Before 2013, neither Jay nor illy had even heard of 1984's Pryor's Place - Richard Pryor's short-lived Saturday morning kid's show (yes, you read that correctly) - much less seen an episode. Fast-forward to the Christmas season of 2015, the guys watched its eleventh episode, "Cousin Rita", in an attempt to record an audio/video commentary and in order to accomplish the task, requested some assistance from a friend..... [Endcap, Pt. 2 of 2 - Recorded one night after SummerSlam] Having already named his favorite entrance themes from the late 80s/early 90s in a past episode (see Deathcakes, Episode 20.5), illy adds several more from the late 90s and modern-day to round out his list, while Jay listens. illy then releases some World Wrestling Ventilation regarding the SummerSlam PPV and some of the mishaps of WWE creative he's witnessed over the past few months, praises NXT, and ultimately invites anyone who's been away from wrestling to come back and give the current product a shot. Words from a born-again wrestling fan, in the finale of DCP Rasslin!

[Endcap, Pt. 1 of 2 - Recorded directly after NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II, the night before SummerSlam] illy finally reveals his top five wrestlers list and names a handful of current day favorites... but not before being joined by his daughters, to react to their viewing of NXT Takeover that same night, rattle off their predictions for the matches at SummerSlam, and name their OWN favorite wrestlers and entrance themes.  It's a wild ride, folks!

Though they'd covered The Letter People and Sesame Street in the past, the guys have had yet to dig deeper into the well of PBS programming... until now! The first installment throws it back to both the mainstays and the obsucurities in PBS' children's lineup of the 80s and 90s. 

Voltron, a childhood favorite of Jay's and illy's, has seen a couple disappointing reboot attempts over the years (Voltron Force, or Third Dimension, anyone?) but by the grace of God, Dreamworks and Netflix have finally gotten it right with Voltron: Legendary Defender!

Summer vacationing and other scheduling conflicts caused the guys to have to catch this year's E3 event weeks after it had ended, thus, their "post-game" report once again arrives much later in the off-season. [Final Chapter, Pt. 1.5 - Recorded 14 days after Money In The Bank] With Saturday morning cartoons being the heart and soul of Deathcakes Podcast, a wrestling block just wouldn't be complete without delving into Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, despite how horribly it holds up (oh, it's BAD, people!)  The guys watched "Clean Gene"/"Andre's Giant Problem", the third episode in the short-lived series, which just so happened to air on illy's 4th birthday! [Final Chapter, Pt. 1 - Recorded three days after Payback] Jay, who has been away for five episodes, drops down outta the rafters and returns to his hosting seat on Deathcakes Podcast! As a "fairweather fan" during the 80s and most of the 90s, he's got a few random WWF memories to touch on, but by 1996 til the end of the decade, he was a regular full-time viewer of WCW programming during the red hot Monday Night Wars. You'll also hear all about his top five wrestlers, his favorite entrance music (plus a hilarious story linked to one of them) and who just might be his most HATED wrestling personality of all time!

[Chapter 2, Pt. 2 - Recorded six days after WrestleMania 32] illy's brother Nelson jumps into the fray and covers many of his '90s wrestling (majority, Attitude Era WWF) memories, the snacking rituals he ushered in for Monday night viewing (shouts out to Old Vienna, St. Louis' hometown snacks!), his lifelong wrestling fan grandfather, and his own, real-life, Shane McMahon-esque high spot fail! *roffle*

[Chapter 2, Pt. 1 - Recorded two days before WrestleMania 32] The next chapter in #DCPRasslin begins with Joe, illy's brother, describing his all but hereditary interest in WWF and WCW from age 3(!), straight forward into the early 2000s. As the biggest wrestling fan in the Miller crew, you'll find out just how much programming he consumed in that timespan, his action figures, the videogame moments on N64 and Playstation [somehow we forgot to mention the WWF titles on Sega! -illy], his top five favorite wrestlers and also hear him absolutely run the cup OVER with entrance themes! [Chapter 1, Pt. 2 - Recorded eight days before WrestleMania 32] #DCPRasslin and the MWO chapter continue, this time with Ghost (Keepers of the Funk) in the guest chair!  Late 80's and early 90's NWA/WCW programming, how it compared to that of the WWF's at the turn of said decade and how Ghost converted illy into a WCW fan are the emphasis, but they also dig through memorable moments across both major companies, wrestling toys (just what in the world was the JWA??) and of course, you'll get Ghost's favorite entrance themes and top five favorite wrestlers!

[Chapter 1, Pt. 1 - Recorded four days before WrestleMania 32] Pro Wrestling.  An integral part of illy's childhood and teen years, the topic has been a glaring omission in Deathcakes Podcast history. That ends NOW, with the premiere of the #DCPRasslin block! illy's sister takes the guest host spot in this episode, and before giving a list of her favorite wrestlers and entrance themes, the two pseudo-twins run the gamut of WWF and WCW talk, reliving their early fandom in the 80s, straight through to its apex in the mid to late 90s!

The crew revisits great moments in the seminal yet short-lived sketch comedy, The State, and with that, this MTV block is ou-ouuuta heeeeere!
