Today’s premiere comes from Ukrainian DJ and producer Recid on Nastia’s imprint, Nechto. The track ‘Green Horse’ offers an intense yet melancholic trip through striking rhythms and wandering pads. The third release on Nastia’s Nechto imprint embodies the artist’s aim to seek new ways of approaching music production – through creating various chains of midi effects, Recid offers an auditory piece of work that consists of unimaginable and striking variations of drums, melodies, and noises. The EP is inspired by equestrianism and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, delivering at times an intense mood and narrative. The EP took a few years in the making, with some of the tracks being recorded more than two years ago in Crimea, with the rest finalized in Kyiv. Recid, whose real name is Andrey Dyachenko, has been one of the key figures in Ukraine’s electronic music scene. Local selection 163 comes from Lost resident Gaff, as the Dublin based producer comes through with a slamming assortment of hard techno and hardcore. Gaffa’s not messing about in this mix, coming in hard and fast from the get go. Based in Dublin, Gaffa is the alias of Meath native Paul Darcy, well known in Dublin’s club scene for the last few years as a DJ, producer, and promoter for the successful ‘LOST’ collective, which he co-founded in 2018. Having played at many different club nights and festivals in the past, he has become most notable for his ability to blend different styles and genres. Under the guise of Gaffa, Paul is creating a sound that spans across hard techno, gabber, jungle and much more. Having recently played sets in The Sound House, Index and The Grand Social, he is going from strength to strength and is certainly one to watch. The Don’t Label boss man comes in hot and heavy with broken techno massacre rendition of ALNA’s original, Jerome Hill at his finest. London-based ALNA plays, produces and promotes bass-heavy techno, old school, acid, rave and breaks. Her musical journey started in her hometown Turin, where, since teenage years, she studied music, had a vocal coach and played and performed in multiple bands and in the theatre. These days she is constantly evolving and makes regular appearances at clubs, warehouses and festivals across the UK and Europe. The duo consisting of Aidan Thompson & David Diamond contributed their warm up set in Wigwam for FKA.M4a as this weeks contribution to the Local Selection. The two hour trip is packed Italo Disco, Synth Pop, House, Disco and so much more. Bellafesta is a project created by Aidan Thompson and David Diamond during lockdown. It is a celebration of all things Italo Disco, Synth Pop, and Cosmic sounds from all eras and galaxies, as well as a celebration of all things Italo Disco. Over the course of the last year, the lads have thrown some infamous parties at venues such as Tengu, Wigwam, and Hang Dai Chinese Restaurant. A unique variety of quirky dance music is played throughout the DJ sets, with a few guilty pleasures tossed in for good measure to round out the experience. Today we premiere brand new music from prolific DJ and producer Marcus32x, also known under his SONIA alias where he explores the harder areas of techno, trance and hard house. He began DJing and producing from a young age, introduced into the hard house and donk scene which helped him stand out with his distinct style today. Continuing his natural progression but maintaining his roots, SONIA moved towards techno; focusing on fast paced and hard hitting styles that make his sound stand out. This week's Local Selection is from Dublin native and rising DJ and producer Aoise, as we invite her to soundtrack your Wednesday afternoon. The young DJ and producer is a graduate of the Sunil Sharpe, Doug Cooney and DeFeKT school of excellence, having studied DJ techniques and music production at BIFE. There have been many high hitters to come from this course and after hearing Aoise's take on tunes we look forward to what's in store for her. Her sound stems from dark, dubby techno that has developed and matured through the years, taking inspiration from the likes of Ø [Phase], Sterac, Oscar Mulero and Sleeparchive. Dublin DJ and producer Josh Coakley has been earning his stripes performing at clubs and festivals up and down the country, as well as internationally, playing a huge variety of tunes, from vintage old-skool tracks to house, disco and techno. His style has earned him sets supporting Patrick Topping, Solardo and Fisher, to Michael Bibi, Route 94, Eats Everything and Alan Fitzpatrick. His first release was at the young age of 16 where his skills saw him get signed to Irish label Luxor Music. Today's premiere comes from another outstanding release on Sharpson's Choki Biki Records, as Josh Coakley launches his Coakley Collabs Vol.1 collaborative EP, curated by Josh himself. Coakley Collabs Vol.1 consists of six techno orientated collaborations between Josh Coakley and other Irish talent including; blk., Sharpson, jxck, KIRK, Karl Seery and Black Traffic. Each track varies between a blend of acid, electro, trance and breakbeat, under the umbrella of Coakley’s signature techno sound. Today's premiere "Fade To Grey' comes from Josh Coakley's collaboration with Scott Prendergast AKA Black Traffic. The pair have composed a track that tows the lines between trance and melodic techno. Black Traffic's signature use of rich textures and melodies contrast with Coakley's hard core techno drum programming. This week’s Local Selection Mix comes from one of our favourite Irish DJs at the moment, Caoimhe. The thriving up and comer has provided yet another excellent trip through her record stacks, running through tribal, house, acid, techno, breaks and a whole lot more. County Antrim native Caoimhe began her DJ career in early 2019 and quickly rose through the ranks, catching the eyes of industry tastemakers in Ireland and the UK. Caoimhe had won three major DJ competitions in quick succession including a Breezeblock event to support Octo Octa, the AVA Festivals emerging DJ competition and the Mixmag and Coors Light DJ contest. These competitions led to Caoimhe supporting Octa Octa for Breezeblock who have been running some of Belfasts best club nights, opening up the coveted main stage at AVA Festival which is no mean feet for any DJ and lastly throwing it down at the Lab London for Mixmag.
