We welcome a premiere today from Dublin DJ and producer Sharpson today, as the prolific producer drops his 'Could This Be Love' single on his own Choki Biki Records imprint. Dónal Kofteros Sharpson is an Irish DJ, producer and label boss based in Bristol. Sharpson is known for his versatility as both a DJ and producer, having signed to an array of labels such as Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird, Riva Starr’s Snatch! and Deborah de Luca’s Solamente. With over 14 years of experience, he has accumulated a genre spanning repertoire spanning all areas of electronic music. Today he releases his latest single ‘Could This Be Love’ via his label, Choki Biki Records. ‘Could This Be Love’ finds the perfect balance between club banger and a radio repeater. This week’s edition of the Local Selection Mix is a blistering hour of funky and hard techno from Meda. The young up and comer, keeps the foot on the gas from start to finish, delivering a pounding hour of grooves. MEDA is a Lithuanian techno DJ influenced by old school rhythms and tempo. Her style and specialty in heavy grooves bring an exciting atmosphere to the dance floor. MEDA has been attending techno nights in Dublin for many years now and has an extensive knowledge of techno, recently she decided to put this knowledge into the craft of DJing and releasing mixes. MEDA showcases the harder and tougher sides of techno, taking inspiration from acts such as Eric Sneo, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer & more. Our second premiere of the day comes from Robin Wylie as he features on Belfast label, Computer Controlled Controlled Records. Robin has been pushing boundaries producing dubstep and breaks, but now he features on the first digital release Nez’s imprint alongside Hezzaine as they provide three impeccable electro cuts. Following the analogue-fuelled, sci-fi electro soundscapes of Hungarian producer Norwell’s Interkosmos EP, Computer Controlled Records next record is a little closer to home. Robin Wylie is a producer synonymous with wicked breakbeats, 2-step and jungle with a refreshing take on electronic music in his home of Belfast. The RLSD boss man is no stranger to knocking out prime techno cuts, and ‘Covalent’ is no exception, as Doug channels classic dub techno auras with definitive 909 grooves. Doug Cooney lives and breathes techno within every facet of his life and has dedicated many years to the genres growth and wellbeing in Ireland. From setting up one of Ireland’s best techno labels RLSD, to teaching in Bray Institute Of Further Education, alongside teaching his RLSD classes, to churning out proper techno 12 inches, there’s few Irish DJs and producers that come close to Doug Cooney in terms of impact on the Irish techno scene. Doug Cooney also boast’s being one of the most technically gifted DJs on the isle of Ireland. Meticulous attention to detail behind a set of turntables has seen Cooney share the booth with formidable techno figures such as Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, UVB, Mark Broom and more.

Berlin based LXM steps in for our 155th Local Selection Mix with a carefully crafted techno mix. LXM has provided a masterclass three deck mix, full of incessant loops and grooves to soundtrack your Paddy’s Eve. Louis McElveen has been hard at work in the studio, carving out a refined techno sound since his move to Berlin. Today we premiere a track from one of Ireland’s most talented but also under rated producers, Dan Ryan. Dan is back with another monumental self release, channelling classical musical sampling and intertwining it with symphonic breaks. Dan Ryan is a Dublin native and has been making music for years, with some of his older tracks such as Housewerk from 2012 still finding their ways onto dance floors to this day. The Dublin native has been making tunes and self releasing them for over a decade. The somewhat elusive Dublin born producer was a resident at Mr.Jones in Twisted Pepper.
