13/10/2021 Duração: 41minMeet Neil - he is 34 years old and lives in Brenham. He works out and coaches over at Brenham CrossFit, but you probably recognize Neil as the BCS Classic volunteer extraordinaire that he is! He has been volunteering with us for a few years now, and brings a level of excitement and hype that is matched by no one! Neil has several parts to his fitness journey. The first one - it was all about Neil. The second story started after his mindset shifted from ‘it’s all about me’ to ‘how can I become strong so that I can be strong for others’. Then he moves onto to a part of his life where he realized that fitness has internal benefits that far exceed that of weight loss (or muscle gain) and looking better. TJ Ryan - Accountability is a game changer
22/09/2021 Duração: 36minMeet TJ Ryan—he is 25 years old. TJ is the Director of Scouting for the A&M men’s basketball team. He is originally from St. Petersburg, FL, but has been working out here in College Station at BoomFit for the past 3 months. As a kid, fitness was just something you were apart of according to TJ. He played baseball and basketball both until high school where he decided to focus on basketball. TJ grew up being self conscious about his body and how he looked—something we can all relate to. In high school he started to get serious about working out, and tried out various programs like P90X and Insanity. After opting to focus on his passion for coaching instead of being a player, though, he lost the drive to workout and let his fitness slide. Now, he’s focused and back at it. Listen in to hear the rest of his story and find out how he turned things around in terms of his health and fitness!

10 Min Pep Talk - Stop trading minutes for calories
15/09/2021 Duração: 10minIn this month's 10 minute pep talk, Charlie expands on an email he sent out earlier this week where he discussed the common misconception that if you workout, you can automatically eat more. Yes if you workout you likely are able to eat more freely. But, that creates a very unhealthy thought pattern in your brain. Exercise should be something you do. It is making your body healthy, stronger and it will perform better for you long term. It also just happens to burn calories but that is not WHY we do it. Listen in to be inspired!

Jake Fenoglio - The need for a fitness community
23/06/2021 Duração: 40minMeet Jake. Jake is 34 and recently re-joined College Station Crossfit after taking a bit of a break during the COVID pandemic. Jake went to high school in Chicago and played just about every sport out there. He came to College Station hoping to play baseball at TAMU, but soon realized that wasn’t going to happen with a shoulder injury he sustained in high school. Facing this realization, Jake spiraled into depression and a drug addiction until he found Jesus and a home church at Brazos Fellowship. Jake discusses his fitness journey, the ups and the downs. Cameron Blackwood-All it takes is a little focus
02/06/2021 Duração: 32minThis week on the #BuildingBetterPeople, we meet Cameron Blackwood. Cameron describes being in the best shape of his life when he was in high school where he played both football and baseball. One cool fact is that Cameron was coached in baseball by Craig Biggio—yes Craig Biggio from the Astros! Cameron talks to Charlie about what that experience was like, but after high school, he noticed his weight and fitness started to change, which he says wasn’t surprising since he replaced his 4 hour workouts with beer and tailgates (how many of us can relate to that!). Cameron also talks about his recent Murph prep and how he hopes to be in good enough shape to complete this challenging workout. We think a lot of people will really relate to Cameron’s story and struggles. Enjoy!
