This week the Muses interview Jessa aka Jessica Stuart, an award winning vocalist, instrumentalist and songwriter who began her musical career as The Jessica Stuart Few, touring all over world in places such as North America, Asia, Europe and Australia . This past year she's released her 4th album, Simple Songs, under the name Jessa. Fans may also recognize Jessa from the CBC short documentary Finding Fukue which followed her journey to Japan as she looked for her long lost childhood best friend. Continuing with our tribute to the women who loved Jimi Hendrix, this week we discuss 60’s model and Swinging London socialite Linda Keith and the portrayal of their relationship in the 2013 film Jimi: All Is By My Side Daughter of the longest British radio presenter Alan Keith, Linda’s passion for music and her talent for spotting true talent was simply in her blood. Working as a model at the age of 17, she met Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and the two became each others first loves. It was while she was visiting Keith on tour in America that Linda spotted Jimi Hendrix, then playing at a dive bar in NYC. Today we’ve come together for a very special occasion, and that’s to have a conversation with Rosa Lee Brooks and Gregg Wright to recognize what would have been Jimi Hendrix's 78th Birthday. On November 27th, Kiss The Sky will be playing an upcoming live-stream to honour Jimi Hendrix's birthday that will air on Facebook and other platforms. Rosa Lee Brooks locked eyes with Jimi Hendrix on New Years in 1963 and it was love at first sight. Cosmically connected, the two went on to write and record My Diary and Utee together forming both a romantic and musical partnership. Rosa began singing at the age of two and thankfully, hasn’t stopped. Mentored by Etta James, she brought everything full circle later on when she’d invite musicians into her home and inspire them.  We were so happy to have Gregg Wright join us in the studio for this conversation and some music. She was the first drummer for the legendary band The Cramps before meeting her partner Billy Miller. Together, her and Billy took their passion for music to the next level, first came their fanzine, Kicks, then came Norton Records, which focuses on amazing rockabilly & garage reissues from the 50s-70s. This week's episode is based on the autobiography of Ronnie Spector: Be My Baby- How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness or My Life as a Fabulous Ronnette. Ever since Ronnie was a baby, she was singing for people on the subway. Growing up in a musical household, Ronnie would perform with her sister, cousins, aunts and uncles every weekend. Ronnie knew that show business was her destiny, and that music was the only thing she ever wanted to do. Ronnie, her sister Estelle and their cousin Nedra formed the Ronnettes and performing in New York, and perfecting their live show until they knew it was time that the Ronnettes had to make a record. Searching for the perfect producer, the Ronnettes reached out to Phil Spector who agreed to record them immediately. Phil knew how to write a song for Ronnie's voice and his famous wall of sound made "Be My Baby" an instant hit, and an all time classic. However, while Ronnie's dream of becoming a famous singer was coming true, her home life and relationship with Phil

While some may think it was Ozzy who introduced Sharon to the world of rock n roll truth is she was partying with the animals long before the Prince of Darkness entered the picture. Daughter of infamous music manager turned gangster Don Arden, Sharon entered the family business as a teen and soon became her fathers right hand man helping to manage bands such as ELO and Black Sabbath. When Sabbath fired frontman Ozzy Osbourne for his drug and alcohol addiction, Sharon stood by his side and took over his management, helping to build one of the most successful solo careers of all-time while also falling deeply in love. While they're love affair has stood the test of time it was certainly not always smooth sailing. Years of addiction and extremely violent behaviour marred their private life, but the pair always managed to pull through the worst of it and will be celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary this summer. This week, Chanty presents an episode about Barbara Barnes Sims after reading her amazing book about her time working at Sun Records. Barbara was am employee at Sun Records from 1957-1960, just after Elvis had left, and while Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison were getting their start. Barbara worked in sales, promotion and publicity. While there, she developed a close friendship with Sam Phillips and came to be a part of the Sun Records family.
