‘Tis a time of change here in the neighborhood as new bonds are forged and old ones are shaken. Prepare thyself for emotional highs AND lows as we discuss episode 37 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Hayato has a realization, Byrnes is easily delighted, and our hosts screech into the heavens, “we told you so!”

Blow your nose and wipe away your tears because it’s time to put the past behind us and look into the beautiful, chiseled future! It’s Yuuto who??? here in the neighborhood as we discuss episode 36 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Riko has craft time, Misaki gets a second chance, and our new housemate is so dreamy that we all think we can learn to love again.

All good things must come to an end, friends. We finish another chapter this week as we discuss episode 35 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Riko continues to fret, Yuuto confesses his love, and we all have a good cry. Catharsis!

You know that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap? And no matter how little cilantro is in a dish, the soap taste is so strong that it dominates everything else? Just like cilantro, we’ve got one talking point as we discuss episode 34 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Arman gets involved, Taylor talks idols, and Hayato somehow has not even been a little bit murdered yet.

The tenets of yakiniku are broken, Arman powers up, and Hayato continues to make everything deeply uncomfortable. This is just our lives now, I guess.

It’s another week of emotional whiplash as we get yanked from despair to excitement to despair again. Hikaru has more friends than we thought, two new additions join the house, and Natsumi goes out in the most poetic way possible: not with a bang but a whimper.

Hey, Listener, take a seat, we need to have a talk. It’s rejection week here in the neighborhood as we discuss episode 31 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. We got romantic rejection, platonic rejection, rejection for all occasions! Hikaru makes a choice, Misaki puts her foot down, and Natsumi am feel uncomfortable when we are not about me?

I have to warn you, there is nothing to be found in this episode but pure, unfettered heterosexuality. This is the kind of episode that prompted filmmakers in the 80s and 90s to wonder if men and women can truly be friends. It’s episode 30 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City! Natsumi refuses any and all character development, Hikaru continues to put in the least amount of effort, and Misaki takes a leap of faith. We will now be a Fire Emblem podcast from here on out.

You know how sitcoms will sometimes shoehorn in a new baby when the original baby starts getting too old? I don’t know where I’m going with this, but it’s something to mull over as we discuss episode 29 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. The house gets a new little sister character, Taylor talks school-sanctioned beauty pageants, and Misaki tries to do a Seduction. Yes, Terrace House is THAT kind of anime.

Sometimes real human relationships are sloppy, with no real sense of continuity or consistency. In fact, we’re ALL breaking character this week as we discuss episode 28 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Arisa invents the concept of hats, Hikaru is overcome with teenage angst, and Yuuto reveals a fault.

You know that feeling you get when things have been going TOO well lately and you keep waiting for something terrible to happen? Well, that’s the feeling we’re starting to have this week as we discuss episode 27 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Hikaru continues to act his age (12?), Misaki and Natsumi do a bamboozle, and Arisa makes a shocking announcement: that she knows how to use a hammer.

Oh my god, guys, you’ll NEVER believe what episode 26 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City texted us last night. I think it’s totally into us! This week, Hikaru commits a coffee crime, Arman is but a whisper upon the wind, and every single person in this dang house embodies the eyes emoji. You know the one.

Okay, guys, so if you want to be a member of the Prince’s fan club, you have to remember the number one rule: he belongs to ALL of us, so no trying to get him for yourself. Sound good? Okay, then let’s discuss episode 25 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Natsumi continues to make poor life choices, Hikaru finally acts his age, and the world lets out a collective sigh as it all at once falls in love with our newest housemate. Let’s make him president.

Patience will be rewarded, friends, and boy were we patient! Things are a little bit brighter here in the neighborhood as we discuss episode 24 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. An era comes to a close, we make a new friend, Hikaru continues to be the absolute worst, and our hosts confront their own mortality. The future is bright!

Terrace Neighbors officially turns one year old this week and yet we’re still trapped within the purgatorial hellscape that has become Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Arman does some soul-searching, Uchi takes the world’s longest stress nap, and things become Flirty in a way that no one should be comfortable with. Everyone needs to just go to bed!!!!!

This week’s episode is a short one, friends, because discussing the meat incident comes at a price that no man should have to pay. It’s episode 22 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City! Not a single person makes a good decision. That’s it. That’s the episode.

It’s our twentieth episode, and we completely forgot to get ourselves anything! In fact, there is absolutely no fun or excitement or festivity to be found this week as we discuss episode 21 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Natsumi continues to be great at making friends, Uchi changes allegiances, and Taylor gets various pets involved in the discussion. Take a seat, we have some things to discuss – as a family.

We had a good run, friends, we really did, but we all knew we’d have to face the harsh realities of life someday. This week, we say goodbye to the idealistic naivety of youth as we discuss episode 20 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Arman finally gets a job, Hikaru alarms us, and Natsumi decides to burn bridges before she’s even had a chance to cross. Real fun episode, you guys.

It’s out with the old, in with the new here in the neighborhood as we begin the second half of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. And boy, do we have a lot of ground to cover, holidays to speed run, and new friends to embrace. The Armanisa (we’ll workshop it) romance comes to a head, Taylor sings, and a new face learns about doorbells for the first time. We can tell, 2016 is really gonna be our year.
