We continue where we left off last week and we’re ready for some reflection as we discuss episode 9 of Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020. Haruka faces the music, Risako blows off steam in a way that would make the LDP proud, and an unexpected hero visits the house.

A rectangle of light slices through the darkness as a door opens. Taylor, resting upon a rock at the center of the terrarium, blinks blearily at the intrusion. "It's time," the visitor says, though she can't make out their face. She hisses and skitters into the shadows. "It must be you. You're the one with the libsyn password." The creature backs up until she feels the cool press of the glass. In this perfectly smooth cage, there is nowhere to hide. "Come on, we have two quick announcements to share with the listeners. It'll take like five minutes. It was your idea. Stop being dramatic." With a sigh, the stranger places a single microphone upon the rock. "Also, stop calling your studio apartment a terrarium, it was kind of funny the first time? But then you kept making the same joke over and over and over again. Just... let me know when you get it done, okay?" The door closes, the darkness returns. Blinking her third eyelid, Taylor plugs in the mic.

It’s a windy day here in the neighborhood – at least on the Saitama side of it – and we’re feeling particularly punchy as we discuss episode 8 of Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020. Taylor breaks down what she’s been reading in quarantine, Risako and Haruka’s rivalry comes to a head, and our hosts talk life philosophies.

We’re still reeling from the shake-ups of last episode, and there’s still a lot left to process as we discuss episode 7 of Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020. Our disdain for Haruka is solidified, Ruka finds himself at the center of an unwitting love triangle, and Kenny proves the age-old adage that any weirdo can redeem himself by soulfully strumming a guitar.

We’re back with a new season and everything is shiny and new. We have a new fancy house, new fancy cars, and a new fancy cast of attractive singles embarking on communal living. Pack your bags and turn in your keys, friends, because our time in this neighborhood has come to a close. We’ve finally reached the season finale as we discuss episode 46 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Can you believe I’ve written forty-five of these things?

Our time with the Boys & Girls is coming to an end, and it’s time to address the things left unsaid. We’re thinking about the future this week as we discuss episode 45 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Masako gives her answer, Riko enjoys small town fame, and Hayato decides to live his life like a shojo manga hero.

Life in the neighborhood got thrown into chaos last week and now we’re here trying to pick up the pieces. Emotions ran high, and now it’s time to process it all as we discuss episode 44 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Riko gets trampled, Hayato puts his big villain shoes on, and somehow, despite it all, Arman keeps us rooting for heterosexual love.

Not from successful love alone, Nor wealth, nor honor'd middle age, nor victories of politics or war; But as life wanes, and all the turbulent passions calm, As gorgeous, vapory, silent hues cover the evening sky, As softness, fulness, rest, suffuse the frame, like freshier, balmier air, As the days take on a mellower light, and the apple at last hangs really finish'd and indolent-ripe on the tree, Then for the teeming quietest, happiest days of all! The brooding and blissful halcyon days!   (We’re discussing episode 43 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City, and it has possibly broken us.)

We’re in the final stretch of the season and things are getting dire in the neighborhood as we discussed episode 42 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Arman has a scare, the camera loves Masako, and Hayato proves that he might actually have a bit of a spine after all! It’s another odd one, lads.

Please, listener, what time is it? Episode forty, you say? But that cannot be right, it’s been episode forty for twenty years!!! The concept of time itself falls apart around us as we discuss episode 41 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Misaki laughs too much, everyone gets weirdly frisky, and Masako is just about ready to set the world ablaze and watch it burn.

Strap on in, friends, for one really weird episode. There’s something in the water this week as we discuss episode 40 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Byrnes doesn’t think things through, Masako poisons the house, and EVERYONE gets familiar. Like really, really familiar.

Turn in your pointe shoes because it’s time for what we hope is the last big member shake-up of the season! There are only a handful of episodes left as we discuss episode 39 of Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City. Momoka has a harsh realization, Arman goes for a swim, and Misaki and Byrnes continue to be entirely wholesome. Healthy communication and boundaries in *my* Terrace House??? It’s more likely than you’d think.
