Jesus compares the Holy Spirit to wind. This is not only a powerful metaphor, but also it gives us a slogan to strive for. As Christians, we are striving to "Catch the Wind".

Slogans are meant for identity. A good slogan becomes a mantra that reminds us of something (who they are, or what they are selling). A Godly slogan, then, becomes a Godly mantra that reminds us of Godly truths (our identity). And that is what this series is about.

This is the final installment of our series focusing on the journey of finding purpose and direction by talking about our destination. Some may say this is "heaven" or "hell" (which is not wrong), but it might be better explained as "with God" or "without God."

One truth about our spiritual journey is that we are all going to get off the trail of following God. But the real question is... are we going to get back on track?

We talk about the need to help people, but when the rubber meets the road, we don’t often take the opportunities when they are clearly present. Jesus has a story for us to consider.

Along the journey of life, God beckons us to "stop and look" at what He is doing. Whether through a burning bush, a cloud of his presence, or maybe even in the beauty of His creation. But all-too-often we miss it.

On any journey there are certain preparations that need to be made. This Sunday, we will look at how we should be prepared for our spiritual journey.

Before any journey, we should “take stock” of what we have and what we need. On our spiritual journey a good evaluation is also needed.

Barton W. Stone (one of our forefathers in the Restoration Movement - churches of Christ, etc.) had strong convictions about the unity mentioned in scripture. So much so that he encouraged everyone to "let unity be our polar star".

Christmas time is always full of expectations… it always has been. But all-too-often we get stuck in the traps of either expecting too much of Christmas or not enough of Christ.

In the song “Silver Bells” there is a line that says, “City sidewalks, busy sidewalks.” This seems to be a pretty accurate picture of our world during this season. But God steps into our story with the glory of his presence wrapped in swaddling cloth. And "God with us" changes our whole story.

We are in the process of recognizing additional elders to work with our congregation. And this begs the question of why. Why is it important to have elders? Join us Sunday as we look at a story in Acts 15 where elders were needed to solve a conflict.

Too many people consider the phrase "I'm praying for you" as an exit to the conversation rather than an invitation to join in the struggle. This Sunday, we will continue sermon series on encouragement with a look at prayer.

One of the best ways that we can encourage someone is to simply show up. This Sunday, we will be talking more about what that looks like, and why it is so powerful.

The Bible puts a strong emphasis on the practice of encouragement and so should we. According to scripture, to encourage is to motivate others in the direction of Jesus.

Sunday was the end of Daylight Saving Time. That means that you kinda get an extra hour... but for what? How are you going to use your time? Or maybe the better question is, how are you going to redeem the time that you have.

This is the last of the Lord's Supper series looking at a few questions about this meal that have caused division in the church over the years.
