On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans for another edition of Winans Wednesday. The two break down the Panthers' 2-1 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils from the Prudential Center on Tuesday night. A scoreless game through the first 40 minutes where the Panthers took care of the NZ. Although the Panthers struggled to get to the net front, they were still able to generate plenty of speed on the night. Paul Maurice juggled the lines, but quickly put Jesper Boqvist back with Anton Lundell, and it paid off getting the first goal of the game 41 seconds into the third period. Although New Jersey scored less than two minutes later, the game picked up when Matthew Tkachuk placed a hit on Nico Hischer (which resulted in a Devils PP). Spencer Knight came up big on the evening, saving 26/27, while also stopping Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt in the shootout, while Aleksander Barkov and Anton Lundell scored some beauties. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) broke down the Panthers' 4-3 loss to the Flyers, where the Cats went into the second period with a two-goal lead. Flyers tilted the ice in the second period and slowly but surely, it ended up in the lead evaporating. Philadelphia took away the Panthers time and space, and play around the crease was not at their best, as the majority of the scoring came up the Flyers getting to the net front. Sam Reinhart scored two special teams goals on the night, including a highlight reel goal short-handed, but it was spoiled as Panthers lost their first game in regulation when leading after 40 minutes in over two years. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down Saturday's 4-3 loss for the Panthers against the Boston Bruins at home. The Cats outshot Boston by more than double, but Jeremy Swayman backstopped the Bruins to a win. Although the Cats gave up two goals on the PK, they went three straight kills without allowing a shot, they limited the breakaway chances, and although they never had a lead, they consistently pushed and had Boston on their heels, even going into the final frame. It manifested in a goal by Sam Reinhart with less than 2 seconds less in regulation to give the Panthers a point, the Cats did have force over time, but due to a penalty taken, the Bruins went on the power play and converted to get the extra point on a block that ended up in the back of their net. The Cats now shift their focus to the Flyers for the third and final matchup of the season, where it'll begin a stretch of eight games in 14 nights. We discuss all of this and more

As far as the game went, the Cats played a controlled game as they started to get it going after a TV timeout in which Paul Maurice probably had the quote of the season. Utah had 17 shots in the second period, but we did not consider many of their chances in the high quality category, and another Panther broke out of their goal drought, Wednesday night was Sam Reinhart's turn. With his PPG in the second period, he is now second in franchise history with 67. The two break down the Panthers 3-1 loss to Carolina. The Cats were slow coming out of the gate after the Hurricanes scored on their first shift. Game was over after the first 17 minutes where the Lightning got their chances off the rush. The main story of Monday night was a knee-on-knee collision from Nikita Kucherov on Matthew Tkachuk just before the first period ended. Kucherov was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct. Tkachuk was able to return to the game 2 minutes into the second period, but that was not the first of the Panthers players getting banged up as Carter Verhaeghe and AJ Greer were hobbled after delivered some hard checks.
