Episode 116: The Itch
22/08/2011I began the show talking about the itch I feel from time to time. No, not THAT itch—the shopping itch. It’s the reason why guys may go a little overboard when it comes to our hobbies. I reminisce on a couple of old, but great, video games. I wish I could say I’m finally done talking about Fables, but I’m not. I am done reading about it in Fables: The Dark Ages (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham). It finally introduces and deals with things that should have been done way earlier. download this episode Right-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 115: Taxi Sono Que!
15/08/2011Jersey Shore is back! Oh yeah! And I don’t understand MTV’s, or most cable network’s, policy when it comes to posting shows online. I discuss my rather bad experience with an online toy retailer. Don’t shop there. I discuss the oldie John Constantine, Hellblazer: Fear & Loathing (Garth Ennis, Steve Dillion). It’s like the preview of the great Preacher series. download this episode Right-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 114: Easy Peasy
08/08/2011I stop myself from going on one rant by covering the new and surprisingly good, Thundercats show. Then I spend a few minutes going over my excellent, but out of print goody—Spawn Origins Deluxe Vol. 1. Unfortunately, I must eventually move on to Fables: War & Pieces (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham). It’s the most anti-climatic ending to the war with the Adversary, and the easiest war ever. download this episode Right-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 113: Captain Air
01/08/2011It’s a short show this week. However, I do spend a few minutes giving my spoiler free thoughts on Captain America: The First Avenger. It’s good, but also disappointing, and not in the way you think a comic book host might think.I end the show by covering the prematurely canceled series, Air: A History of the Future (G. Willow Wilson, M.K. Perker). It’s a disappointing ending to a series that could have been great, if it had more time.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 112: The Mass Effect of Comic Con
25/07/2011Good morning everyone! I delve into talking about my limited experience with the overrated Mass Effect 1. I also compare the differences between Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins.Because of some tiny convention this week, I believe it’s called San Diego Comic Con, there’s plenty of news. I go over the panels I wasn’t able to attend and the upcoming books. I’m one step closer to the end of Fables by reviewing Fables: The Good Prince (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham).download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 111: One More Thing!
18/07/2011I’m back! I talk about the recent changes in Netflix subscriptions and how it’s not that big a deal. But people like to whine about things being taken away anyway. Also, Jackie Chan Adventures is on their stream so you should watch it. Hi-yah!If you’re going to San Diego Comic Con, check out the Vertigo panels, and pick me up the Back to the Future exclusive. I then delve into the slice-of-life book, Daytripper (Fabio Moon, Gabriel Ba), which is not as boring as it sounds.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 110: Cameron's Cameras
05/07/2011It wouldn’t be an Independence Day weekend without a Michael Bay movie. So I give my spoil-free thoughts of Transformers: Dark (Side) of the Moon and about the trilogy in general. Even though I’m a HUGE Transformers fan, my thoughts are not as favorable as you might think.I then cover Fables: Sons of Empire (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham). It’s a very thick trade that’s all over the place. I’m not even sure who the sons of empire are.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 109: My Last Kotei?
27/06/2011I lack energy this week and my voice is gone because of the San Jose kotei. As much fun as I had, it may be my last one. I talk about it and me taking a break from the collectible card game, Legend of the Five Rings.I go over some old school Vertigo by covering Shade, the Changing Man: The American Scream (Peter Milligan, Chris Bachalo, Mark Pennington) without me screaming. It’s not as outdated as I thought it’d be, but it’s way more trippier than I thought it’d be.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 108: Skript
20/06/2011Just when I thought there was nothing to talk about on this hot, summer day, I find something I’ve been meaning to watch for ages—Never Sleep Again! If you’re a fan of the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, you should watch it. If you’re not a fan, but into movies and the going ons behind them, you should watch it.There’s no news this week, but there is Fables. Bigby’s back and so is his wolfpack in Fables: Wolves (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham). Too bad, half the trade is fluff.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 107: Simple Names
13/06/2011It is a fine day as I celebrate the Dallas Mavericks beating the Miami Heat! Not one, indeed. I dissect why the Mavericks were the better team. To be honest, I picked the Heat to win in six, but was hoping for the Mavs. There’s one piece of news this week as I talk about yet another Vertigo cancellation. I’m not surprised because it was one of those simple titles that all the canceled books had. Coincidence? I think not.I move on talking the recently canceled Vertigo title in Greek Street: Blood Calls for Blood (Peter Milligan, Davide Gianfelice). In case you’re wondering, it’s not about Greek life in a different country.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 106: Back In My Day
06/06/2011Before I talk about comics, I break down my Top 5 Cartoons of all time. Woo-hoo! There’s been some kind of news with DC this week, but I have a hard time remembering it. I think it’s big. Whatever it is, it makes me incoherent.I move on to Fables: Arabian Days (And Nights) by Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham. Because of the title expect a lot of singing from Aladdin.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 105: We Have Heart
30/05/2011This is a short episode this week, but I do cover a lot of ground like the UFC, Majesty, organic food, and culture differences. Listen as my voice gets progressively worse throughout the episode. There was a lot of editing done.I soldier through and cover The Vinyl Underground: Watching the Detectives (Si Spencer, Simon Gane, Cameron Stewart), which is very similar to every other English comic that takes place in London I’ve read. But it’s better than some, worse than others.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 104: Make Your Own Smallville Finale
23/05/2011It’s been a few years since I’ve regularly watched Smallville, but of course, I had to watch the series finale. I “spoil” that. The finale was so bad an episode that I decided to make my own Smallville finale. How would you have done the last episode?I cover the rather good Fables: Homelands (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham). We finally get some answers to the main plot about the Adversary and who he is.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 103: Summer Movies
16/05/2011I recently watched both Thor and Fast Five so you know I have to talk about them. Don’t worry, I don’t spoil them, but if you haven’t seen them, you should. And stay past the credits, this includes Fast Five. There’s one sad, but unsurprising news this week as I say goodbye to FOX’s Human Target. I then move on talking about the imaginative, inventive, and something else that starts with ‘i’ in The Unwritten: Dead Man’s Knock (Mike Carey, Peter Gross). It’s Vertigo’s best ongoing series.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 102: Icka-something
09/05/2011It’s that time of the year again to talk about the NBA playoffs—playoffs! I talk about how dirty the Lakers were and got swept by the Dallas Mavericks. However, I spend most of the show talking about comics. Because I’m me, I mispronounce things, more than I usually do when I begin my journey to finish Fables by covering Fables: The Mean Seasons (Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham). Of course, it feels more like an epilogue than anything else. And if anyone could tell me what The Mean Seasons means, I’d be grateful.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 101: Spin-N-Win
02/05/2011If you think I couldn’t tie Osama Bin Laden’s death with the rising prices in vending machines, you’d be wrong. Before I get political, I talk about Dave and Buster’s and how I’m a Spin-N-Win master! Oddly enough that gets me to talk about unhealthy couples.I do remember to talk about comics by covering Demo (Brian Wood, Becky Cloonan). I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, considering the fact that I had no idea what it was about. There are, however, plenty of blurbs telling how excellent it is.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 100: Extravaganza!
18/04/2011I celebrate this 100 episode by dragging a few people on to talk about the Y: The Last Man series—spoilers and all. We also stray off topic because that’s the way I run my show. Thanks again to Karen and Rob for joining me and for you listeners that have stuck with me for 100 episodes. It’s been a long road.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 99: Arse
28/03/2011I get serious this episode, at least for a minute or two, when I talk about my book, Catalyst: The Passage of Hellsfire. So please, buy my book if you want to support the show and me. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I then talk about the awesome board game I picked up—Munchkin Quest!I finish the show talking about the classic Hellblazer: Dangerous Habits (Garth Ennis, William Simpson). It’s a must read and still holds up. Garth Ennis can do no wrong.Longshot Publishinghttp://www.longshotpublishing.comdownload this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 98: Banana Way
21/03/2011If you haven’t seen Only the Strong, you should. It was an awesomely cheesy, early 90s movie that’s streaming on Netflix. That way, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I move on talking about the good and bad of Bioware’s new game, Dragon Age 2.There’s more rumors than news this week, but you take what you can get with DC’s forgotten imprint. I cover a lovely father and son story in Pride & Joy (Garth Ennis, John Higgins).download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."

Episode 97: Welcome to Americana
14/03/2011Because I see patterns where there are none, I see things happening in the world controlled by a certain, powerful group. I also drop some history knowledge, or try to. I talk about something I never would have thought possible—Facebook games. While I’ve enjoyed Jack of Fables, I don't enjoy Jack of Fables: Americana (Bill Willingham, Matthew Sturges). It’s a set-up for some crossover done in the worst way. There are far too many new questions and no answers. And like this show, things don’t quite make sense.download this episodeRight-click and choose "save target as."
