The Steadfast Love of God
29/12/2024 Duração: 31minPsalm 107 - Speaker: Will Galkin - Psalm 107 is a hymn of thanksgiving that celebrates God’s steadfast love and deliverance of His people. It begins with a call to give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness, particularly His redeeming work for those in distress. The psalm presents four scenarios where people experience calamity—wandering in the desert, imprisonment in darkness, suffering from sin’s consequences, and being overwhelmed by storms—and highlights God’s response to their cries for help. The Lord delivers them in each case, demonstrating His power, mercy, and covenant love. The psalm concludes by emphasizing God’s sovereignty over creation and human affairs, His humbling the proud and raising up the needy. It calls the wise to reflect on these works of steadfast love and to respond with gratitude and praise for the God who redeems and restores.

The Hope of Christmas
22/12/2024 Duração: 35minMicah 5:1-5 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Micah is a hard prophet to understand because the book alternates back and forth between threats of doom and promises of hope. It is hard to figure out what situations he is referring to and how the hope and doom relate to each other. Probably the reason the book is arranged like this is to make the point that where God and his people are concerned, there is always hope, even in the darkest catastrophe. So, Micah mingles gloom and glory through his book. This weekend as we look at Micah 5, we will start with the gloom of Assyria’s threats. For the faithful remnant holed up in Jerusalem during Sennacherib’s siege, all seemed lost. But the prophet rallies the people to hope in a coming Messiah, a Deliverer who would rescue them from their enemies. The hope of this Messiah is our theme for this final week of Advent. May the anticipation of our Deliverer encourage our hearts.

Good News of Great Joy
15/12/2024 Duração: 54minLuke 2:8-14 - Speaker: Jon Kopp - Luke 2 is one of the most familiar Christmas passages in our Bible, and in it we find more than the cold facts of Jesus’ birth. Instead, we find the heartwarming message of God’s grace and love towards His people. In today’s text, an angel surrounded by the glory of God appears to a group of shepherds outside Bethlehem. The shepherds immediately are filled with great fear. But, the angel does not come with a message of fear. Instead, he proclaims good news of great joy that can drive out not only their great fear, but ours as well. Christmas is a story of great joy that can drive out our great fear.

Ascribe Glory to the Lord
08/12/2024 Duração: 37minPsalm 29 - Speaker: Jotham Manoranjan - This Sunday we will be dwelling on Psalm 29. The psalm, using the imagery of a storm, reveals to us the power of God, and makes known to us the kingship of God over the whole earth. In response, heavenly beings and humanity are called to bow down in worship. This God, however, is not only a God of great power, but also a God who is near and dear to his people as he gives them peace. As we study this psalm we are struck by the contrast of power and peace; in the midst of this contrast, we will find comfort in God.

Conversion
01/12/2024 Duração: 56minActs 9:1-31 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In Acts 9, Saul, the persecutor of the Christian church, is transformed into a powerful witness for Christ. This is the account of Saul’s conversion. He goes from a desperate situation of rejecting the Messiah, to a gracious intervention whereby Jesus reveals himself on the road to Damascus and totally transforms Saul’s life. The beauty of this passage is that reminds us of Christ’s miraculous work in salvation. It encourages us to continue witnessing for Jesus because there is no one beyond his saving power. May the Lord strengthen our hearts in the gospel – it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes!

Outsides & Outcasts
24/11/2024 Duração: 01h02minActs 8:1-40 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - We think so much about the missionary journeys of Paul, but did you know that Philip had some missionary journeys as well? Acts 8 talks about some of the gospel work this faithful deacon and evangelist was involved in. He preached to crowds in Samaria, and many came to Christ. But he also shared the good news with individuals like the Ethiopian eunuch. This weekend we’ll learn about God’s providence, his love, and his New Covenant community composed of people from every kindred, tribe, tongue, and nation. May all the peoples praise his name.

Sharing the Gospel
17/11/2024 Duração: 32min1 Corinthians 15:1-3 - Speaker: Jon Kopp - If you ask a group of self-professing Christians to share the essentials of the gospel message, you’ll likely get a myriad of answers. When pressed to define the core of what we believe about Jesus, some can drift into a mumble of spiritual sounding technicalities and nervous “Well...you knows.” Is this a problem? Is it important to accurately define the gospel? Yes. We believe it is. This study will explore understanding the gospel message, remembering the details of the gospel message, and providing ideas for sharing the gospel message.

Engaging Relativism
17/11/2024 Duração: 27min- Speaker: Christopher Hile - In the final week of our study, we explore the prevailing cultural value of relativism and locate it as a question of authority. We also introduce the fourth and final tool for cultural engagement, storytelling. Stories are unavoidable for us as humans, and help us to make sense of the world around us. Stories also help us to show that the gospel is not only true, but beautiful.

Blessings in Jesus
17/11/2024 Duração: 01h54sActs 6:8-7:60 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - The Old Testament recounts how Israel moved from being led by prophets and judges, to the coronation of kings. Do you remember the name of the first king of Israel? Yes, Saul – a man who looked great externally. He stood head and shoulders above the rest. His outward appearance was commendable, but his heart was cold and corrupt. He disobeyed the Lord, and the kingdom was eventually taken from him. The Spirit of God left him, and he spent the last days of his reign in jealous grasping and bitter envy. The hand of the Lord was not on him. But instead of bending to God’s will and bowing to God’s next chosen leader, he resisted and rebelled to his last breath. Saul’s day was past, and God’s favor and blessing were now resting on David, “a man after God’s own heart.” This ancient rivalry reemerges between the first century Jewish establishment and the Son of David named Jesus. The temple looked great externally. It stood tall and appeared commendable. But at the heart o

Growing Pains & Gospel Advance
10/11/2024 Duração: 52minActs 6:1-1:7 - Speaker: Jon Kopp - In the early chapters of the Book of Acts, the church is experiencing an extraordinary growth spurt. On the day of Pentecost, 3,000 people embraced faith in Jesus, and by Acts 4, an additional 5,000 were added. And as we saw in our last message in this series, that growth is happening even in the face of threats from within and without. God’s word and work will not be stopped. You attack the Apostles and tell them to stop talking about Jesus, and they count it worthy to suffer with Jesus…and they go right on preaching about Him in public and private. The gospel is advancing powerfully, and as Acts 6 begins, the number of disciples is increasing too. But, another threat is about to arise. This time the threat is more subtle than violent persecution or blatant hypocrisy. Growing pains are threatening gospel advance. May God help us to recognize that growth often brings challenges, but when the church unites around the priority of God’s Word and sharing in ministry, God’s word

The Kingdom of God is Coming Near
03/11/2024 Duração: 40minLuke 10:1-16 - Speaker: Danny Brooks - Along with the familiar ideas of the abundant harvest, few laborers, and prayer for the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers, another powerful theme from Luke 10 is that we, like the 72, are sent by Christ and in partnership with Him to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom. There are two responses Jesus notes in the passage: rejection and reception. The one comes with a sobering warning of future judgment while the other comes with the promise of great blessing.
