Back round information on the new single " OUT LOUD" It doesn’t happen often that I write and record a full song in the same day. It’s part of the reason why this one is special to me… On a lazy Sunday afternoon that was meant to be an off-day, my partner (SammyB) of 13 years was in the kitchen messing around with his fairly new DJ rig. He started with looping a drum sample and within minutes he ended up with a beat that really sparked something in me while laying peacefully on the couch. At this time in my life, laying on the couch was something I’d gotten really used to. I was spending my time watching too many TV shows wondering why I didn’t feel as happy as I used to. The beat sparked a thought that turned into a full page of lyrics that I probably finished within 20 minutes. After those 20 minutes flew by, I walked into the kitchen and asked him “are you down to record something to this right now?” His response was “right now, right now? Hell yeah!”

I started playing guitar when I was 10 or so and I haven't stopped writing songs.I released my first song when I was newly 14. With my lengthy back story and my musician lifestyle I never seem to run out of material .I even wrote my debut album " hear me out" and had it released before high school graduation. Writing has always been the one way I always knew I could communicate .The thought of providing an escape or connection with another person, just like so many artist and bands have done for me .I consider it sacred and my purpose in this life.

In April 1985, Valerie Day, John Smith, and their band NU SHOOZ released the five-song EP ‘Tha’s Right!’. Acting on a dare from a local music writer, Gary Bryan of Portland, Oregon’s KKRZ put the song “I Can’t Wait” on the air. Listener reaction was strong and immediate- the kind of response known in radio jargon as ‘Instant Phones.’ But this was no overnight sensation. By the time the whole world heard about the Soul band from Oregon, they’d spent seven years onstage, four hours a night, four or five nights a week. So, when their spotlight moment came, the Shooz could get up and play. By the end of the year, “I Can’t Wait” was a regional hit. But the song really took off when it was remixed by Dutch DJ Peter Slaghuis. Atlantic Records signed the band in January 1986. “I Can’t Wait” eventually reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
