We have taken faith to mean something totally different than what it supposed to be—a gift from God. Real faith comes from the Spirit of God. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Now we believe and have been taught that faith is a self-generated concept or spiritual force that leads to prosperity and more material things and in that some find their god, but they will never find faith.

Good Morning Ekkelisa of Christ, I wanted to start today’s lesson clearing a few things up.  While today’s teaching utilizes the above scripture to help further define us as the Ekklesia of Christ and our obligations, we need to understand clearly what that means.  There needs to be a comprehension of exactly what Christ is saying and what God said regarding our relationship with Him in Christ.  What the established religious system has done is nullify and make the word of God and the Christ works legally void in their life and the commandments of no importance or worth.  Teaching that grace and faith is enough, and that sin no longer exist because Christ paid it all is reckless and irresponsible.  That was not the meaning Christ meant when he said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”  

The word church is a translation of the Greek word ekklesia, meaning “a called–out assembly.” The word describes a group of people who have been called out of the world and set apart for the Lord, and it is always used, in its singular form, to describe a universal group of people who know Christ. The word ekklesia, when pluralized, is used to describe groups of believers who meet together. Interestingly enough, the word church is never used in the Bible to describe a building or organization.

Are you really saved?  

Act 1:22-26, “Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.  23  And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.  24  And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,  25  That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.  26  And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.”  

Act 8:9-23, “But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:  10  To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.  11  And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.  12  But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.  13  Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.  14  Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:  15  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:  16  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the

The Storm is Over

The Holy Spirit is an advocate, a helper, another comforter.  That means Jesus was the first helper (Comforter) for him to be another helper (Comforter).  He is not a mere influence.  He is not a movement.  He is not dance partner or choreographers.  He was there in the beginning. He is the spirit of God.  He is a creator.  He is a counselor.  He is a helper.  He inspires scripture. The Greek word translated here as “Helper” is parakletos.  Technically speaking the word Helper (Comforter) has a legal dimension; it refers to one who would be an advocate for another.  An advocate is a Person that acts on behalf of another.

The kingdom of God has a carefully selected set of checks and balances, law and order, obedience and submission that promote and produce God’s will.  Here is where the collective works of one bible, one author, one message, one agenda, and one complete the understanding fit instead of a collection of individual stories and accounts in the bible.  How many have heard that the Bible is a collection of 66 books written by 40 different authors, on three different continents, in three different languages, over a period of 1500 years, and I am adding thousands of different interpretations?

Rom 8:18-25, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.  19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.  20  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,  21  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  22  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  23  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  24  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  25  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
