Alastair returns to John's Gospel with John 18 and the arrest of Jesus. Considering the bigger picture which God sees even when we don't. Calling us to trust in his vision, not our own.

Callum explores the Fruit of patience and how through trust and experience with God it can grow in our lives. Encouraging us to step back from the busyness of life and discover the joy that comes from being in his presence.

Lorna Fyfe leads us in Cafe Church exploring Jesus' prayer in John 17. A prayer that reveals the depth of his love and care for us. While also leaving a challenge, how and where are we going to get out there and show that same love and care for others?

Alastair explores the story of the Wild Olive Tree cafe. At the same time asking the question of what do we do for the Stranger? Considering themes of hospitality and welcome. We challenged to respond with grace and mercy because we have been shown such grace and mercy by Jesus.

Alastair continues venturing through the Gospel of John, focusing on the second part of John 15. Considering what it means for us to remain in the love of God and be a beacon of love to the world around us.

We continue our journey of Advent, Alastair looks at what it is to be faithful. Considering how faithful many were throughout the scriptures, key moments that would lead us to the birth of Jesus.

We continue to come toward Chrismas as we journey in advent. Alastar looks at Isaiah and the invitation of God that is spoken to each one of us. The the call to be a covenant people that comes with that invitation.

Alastair kicks off an Advent looking at the Journey, pulling from Exodus 13 and Acts 2. Thinking about our journey to freedom if Jesus and looking at the ways God has brought about freedom in people's lives time and again.

Alastair explores the topic of freedom. Looking at both Exodus 3 where God sends Moses to bring freedom and highlighting the work of IJM. Considering the freedom that can be found in Jesus and the call on each of us to bring freedom into the world around us.

This week in Cafe Church we launch another of the fantastic paintings from Lukes Gospel. Alastair explores the passage it is connected to, seeing two contrasting outsiders a bling begger and Zacchaeus the Tax collector. Encouraging us with the power of their stories and our own.

Alastair takes us through the next part of John's Gospel with the end of chapter 13 into chapter 14. Exploring the "safety briefing" Jesus gives the disciples, warning them of what would come next. Reminding us of the one who we need for our every day, who calls us, warns us, walks with us and loves us.

Callum explores a little of the book of Jonah, addressing some misconceptions about the story and seeing the challenge of forgiveness found within it. Asking who we need to forgive today.

Alastair continues looking at John's Gospel with the next part of chapter 13. Focusing in on Judus and his hard heart. Considering how we need to come back to Jesus time and again to soften and break out hearts.

This week at Cafe Church we are launching another painting from the Luke series, The Parable of the Great Banquet. Alastair explores the passage an looks at what it means to be in fellowship with God and one another.

Alastair continues through John with the end section of chapter 12. Exploring our call to be ones who partner with Jesus and bear witness to him as we go out in the world.

Rev Stuart Irvin, minister at St Cathrine's-Argyle guest speaks at cafe church. Looking at Ephesians 1 Stuart explores what it looks like for us to full trust and rely on God. Seeing pray as a foundation to our everyday lives.

Alastair explores Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem on a donkey. Where people were cheering, expecting the coming of their new king. Though they failed to see that King Jesus was establishing a very different kind of kingdom to what they expected. Leading us to a question of what kingdom we put our trust in, this earthly ones which are fading away or the Kingdom of God.

Alastair looks at the first part of John 12, where we find a meal with Mary, Martha, and a resurrected Lazarus. Leaving us to consider who would be at that table and how we live our everyday lives with Jesus.
