What's Goin' With Owen & Maggie

It's the end of an era. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart's final film as their respective X-characters. X-23's groundbreaking debut. Owen and Maggie are joined by stalwart listener Krista to give their thoughts on the film. We give a general summer and our recommendations before the Spoiler wall, so even if you haven't see it yet you can still get a few of our thoughts.But seriously, just go watch the movie.

In preparation for the eagerly anticipated Logan movie, Owen and Maggie review Old Man Logan and discuss the X-cellent X-23 miniseries. We also discuss the Lego Batman movie, Grant Morrison and Alan Moore's mystical rivalry, and more!

The bulk of the discussion here is our thoughts on the Doctor Strange movie, the Doctor Strange: The Oath comic miniseries from 2006, and Doctor Strange as a character in general. WARNING! THIS EPISODE CONTAINS UNBRIDLED CRANKINESS ON THE PART OF ITS HOSTS (mostly Owen)!! Yeah, I had a bad case of the poison ivy itches when we recorded this episode, so I was a bit crankier than usual.   ...you know I was gonna try to do a clever thing where I wrote the description in the style of one of the Star Wars crawls but I'm tired and I dunno if anyone really reads these. We had a lot of fun with this one, because as it turns out we are both ENORMOUS Star Wars geeks. While we love talking comics, it's a subject we definitely approach from radically different ways. Star Wars is something I think we have very similar experiences with, despite our age difference, because we were both about the same age when we encountered it and on revisiting it it kinda brings us back to that age.  Anyways it was a blast to talk about Star Wars for an hour, and hopefully it'll be fun to listen to.
