Aside from that breakout role, Steve's had a long and diverse career as an actor in film and television, as a voice-over talent, and as a producer. He’s also been a fill in host on NBC's Today show and now he has a recurring role as a detective on the hit CBS TV show “Blue Bloods”. If that's not enough, Steve's also a published author with six books to his credit including: “The Goomba's Book of Love”, “The Goomba Diet: Large and Loving It”, and “A Goomba's Guide to Life”. Plus he recently launched a line of organic, vegan pasta sauces under the name “Uncle Steve's Italian Specialties”.

He’s been behind the mic for 18-Stanley Cup Finals, has called 13 NHL All Star games, has called both men’s and women’s Olympic Hockey games and in 2011 became the first NHL play-by-play announcer to win an Emmy for “Outstanding Sports Personality, Play-By-Play”. Doc wasn’t done, winning that same award for the last three consecutive years. The Emmys are a fitting tribute to a guy who’s now in his 34th year calling NHL games, including this year's NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs for NBC Sports. In this episode of STOCKTON, the legendary Doc Emerick talks to Dick about how it all started, how he got the knick-name "Doc" and shares his personal battle in beating cancer.

    Tony La Russa has been in baseball since breaking into the "bigs" as a player back in 1963 with the Kansas City Athletics, but it was as a manager that he's most acclaimed. And as a manager for the Chicage White Sox, Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, there’s no doubt Tony La Russa's been one of the best. Over the course of his managerial career La Russa guided his teams to three World Series titles, six league championships and twelve division titles. He was also voted “Manager of the Year” four times and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.  Now in the front office of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Tony La Russa shares his views on what makes a great manager and also what makes great players.

In this podcast Bill Walton opens up to Dick Stockton about all phases of his life, from his UCLA playing days under famed coach John Wooden, with whom he developed a life-long friendship, to his professional career including a time when, crippled with severe back pain, he once considered suicide.  Now a successful broadcaster, Bill Walton is also a long-standing fan of The Grateful Dead as he talks about in his 2016 memoir titled: "Back from the Dead: Searching for the Sound, Shining the Light and Throwing It Down".
