I was joined by four students representing 3 continents to discuss how remote learning has impacted them. Tiago, Year 12, Dubai resident Lottie, Year 6, Dubai resident Free, Grade 6, Atlanta, Georgia resident and Blaine, Grade 12, Raleigh, North Carolina resident. We discussed how ready they are to go back to school, if they are feeling any anxiety, what part of the social aspects of school will be impacted by social distancing, and much more.

I had the opportunity to have a conversation with George Stewart II about his work as a teacher leader, his advocacy work both at the local and state level, and being an agent of change.  I also allowed him to have some time to share his feelings about George Floyd and what predominantly white schools can do to help promote allyship.  George actually helped get a bill to support autistic students on to the House floor in Mississippi. When he’s not running around on a Fijian Island, he is the Admission Product Area Consultant for a database software company called Veracross.
