The Reds lineup, outside of Elly De La Cruz and Tyler Stephenson was mostly lethargic. Below average seasons from Spencer Steer, Jake Fraley, and Jeimer Candelario, combined with horrible seasons from Will Benson and Noelvi Marte, meant there were few bats for opposing pitchers to fear w=on the Reds. Alexis Diaz was also a problem when it mattered most as for much of the season he was not a lock down reliever but a toss up. Fielding and base running miscues, stemming from a lack of accountability in the clubhouse from David Bell, were also a big part of the Reds downfall in 2024.
