Quick Take: History of Lillard vs. Westbrook
25/04/2019 Duração: 13minA quick recap on the history of the rivalry between NBA point guards Damien Lillard and Russell Westbrook that began way back in 2016. Since then the trash talk has been off the rails and culminated into one of the greatest rivalries in the modern NBA, and the playoff series between the Trail Blazers and Thunder took that rivalry to a whole new level. Gage breaks down every antic Russ and Dame had in the series, and how Lillard got the ultimate last laugh by sinking one of the greatest buzzer beaters in NBA playoff history.

April 5, 2019: Too Much Zion
05/04/2019 Duração: 22minThe Final Four is finally hear, but it wasn't exactly the smoothest road to get here. Sports media has been drooling over Zion Williamson the moment he announced his commitment to Duke basketball last year. Since then, you couldn't escape the name Zion even if you tried. Sports media was talking about him at every waking moment and salivating over his talent. But now that Duke isn't in the Final Four, what do they do? Simple, lower their recognition and respect to the team that beat them: Michigan State. From digging up old controversies to flat out ignoring the team, sports media let MSU know that Duke was their favorite, and still talking about how great Zion is in the process. Has this gone too far?

Mar. 29, 2019: Retirement Spree
29/03/2019 Duração: 26minIn the midst of March Madness, several prominent NFL players and one particular UFC fighter announce their retirements. Gage breaks down the careers of these athletes and their impact on the sport to give them a proper send off. But things might not seem so simple, people are skeptical around two of these retirements even being real, and how they might just be ploys to gain publicity and money. Spoiler Alert: the athletes are Rob Gronkowski, Jordy Nelson, TJ Lang and Connor McGregor. Guess which retirements people are skeptical about...

Feb. 22, 2019: "Kraft"ing a Warrant
23/02/2019 Duração: 30minThis week tackles how New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft might have celebrated his team's Super Bowl victory a little too much, since he was just charged with solicitation of a prostitute in Juniper, Florida. Additionally, Gage talks about the Manny Machado contract with the San Diego Padres that is now the second biggest player contract in professional sports history (and how Machado could be the saving grace for a city that continues to lose it's sporting footprint). Finally, after Zion Williamson practically rips his shoe in half during a basketball game against North Carolina (causing a knee sprain), people are immediately going after Nike for faulty shoes, but don't go tearing them down just yet... Then we go to the NBA all-star game, where the conspiracy is that LeBron is using his captain status to his advantage for free agency (a.k.a using his draft picks to try and lure free agents to Los Angeles). Feb. 1, 2019: "A 6-year old could knock out his own dad"
02/02/2019 Duração: 55minThis episode is all over the place, beginning with UFC suspending Conor McGregor for 6 months and Khabib Nurmagomedov for 9 months after their fight that ended in epic proportions. And according to Sergei, 9 months doesn't seem bad in the grand scale of things. Next, betting odds for the Super Bowl are discussed which inevitably leads to the best commercials and memes the Super Bowl had to offer in previous years. Finally, I breakdown the blockbuster trade between the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks that, because of the way it went down, doesn't seem like it was just because of the Kristaps Porzingis meeting... "Beyond Reason" airs on 107.9 FM WVAC on Tuesday and Fridays at 6:00 and Sundays at 11:00. Be sure to follow Gage on Twitter at @TheGreat_Dansby

Jan. 21, 2019: The Not-so-Super Bowl
21/01/2019 Duração: 32minThis episode recaps the NFC and AFC championship games and how missed calls by the refs created a tainted Super Bowl with teams that might not deserve to be there in the first place. Plus, I dive into the potential downsides of a college football playoff expansion and my love-hate relationship with James Harden and the play style of NBA basketball. Beyond Reason airs Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:00 PM and Sundays at 11:00 AM on 107.9 FM WVAC. Follow Gage on Twitter at @TheGreat_Dansby

Nov. 29, 2018: Well hello there New Balance

Kawhi Leonard signs a shoe deal with New Balance for some reason, the Oakland A's reveal concept art for a new Utopian baseball stadium, and NASA engineers turn a touchdown celebration into a viral sensation. Nov. 15, 2018: "You know who John Daly is?"
15/11/2018 Duração: 53minA lot of hostilities seem to be going on the world of sports these days. From a Division III basketball player punching his opponent in the face in the middle of a game, to Kevin Durant and Draymond Green arguing over a final possesion, or Pittsburgh Steelers players rummaging through LeVeon Bell's locker now that he's kicked to the curb, it seems to be a gloomy day indeed. But fret not, this week also touches on the 2018 Cy Young winners, the legend that is John Daly, reminiscing on high school fitness requirements and the Army using video game tournaments for recruiting. "Beyond Reason" airs on 107.9 FM WVAC Tuesday's & Friday's at 6:00 PM and Sunday's at 11:00 AM.

Nov. 8, 2018: "Economy Class to Mars"
08/11/2018 Duração: 51minThis week's episode starts off with the recently passed NFL trade deadline, where for some reason the Detroit Lions thought it was a good idea to trade one of their best receivers for a 3rd round draft pick. Classic Lions indeed. Next comes the latest standings in the college football playoff, and how current #4 seed Michigan can keep their rank to represent the Big Ten only to probably lose to the behemoth that is Alabama. In the basketball sector I debate what's more important: a great individual performance or a team win? Finally, we end with the top news story of the day which centers around a new space race to see who can get a man to Mars first: the United States, China, or movie supervillian in the making, Elon Musk.

Nov. 1, 2018: The Petty Wars & Durkin's Departure
01/11/2018 Duração: 34minWhile most of the NBA has been celebrating Halloween the old fashioned way (dressed in costumes for the walk to the locker room, horror movie reference while they play, etc.) Jimmy Butler is trying to create a real life horror flick with the Minnesota Timberwolves, by intentionally placing himself on the injured reserve. Meanwhile, The University of Maryland's athletic department had a sudden change of heart and decided to fire head football coach DJ Durkin just 24 hours after they told everyone he was going to stay. You can thank one group for that: the players. Finally, I close out with some tech culture and marvel in the idea that a certain entertainment product made over $725 million in it's first 3 days on the shelves. While this might seem impressive, there is a tragedy in all of this: no one pays attention to the ones who made it.

Oct. 25, 2018: Spitgate, the Mumps Email & Game Antics
25/10/2018 Duração: 01h05minThis week's episode recaps the Michigan vs. Michigan State football, where Sergei was our man on the ground and tells us his stories from East Lansing. Plus, Michigan State students were given a warning email to stay away from Michigan students due to mumps cases, we tackle this week's big NBA topics such as Spitgate, Blake Griffin's 50 points, Joel Embid's mental real estate in Andre Drummond's head and Steph Curry doing only what Steph Curry does: 51 points in 3 quarters. Additionally, we talk about how fights in major sports have changed over the years and a look at some of the day's top news stories.

Oct. 19, 2018: "What happened to those rankings huh?"
19/10/2018 Duração: 48minOn this episode I bring back Sergei Harvey to give an update on the Khabib Nurmagomedov situation, where apparently he wants to take on Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match (where have we seen this before?). We also dive deep into the Michigan vs. Michigan State rivalry ahead of their football game on October 20, and bring up the beginning of the NBA season, which somehow leads to the perfect basketball short height, wondering where Lavar Ball went, naming off NCAA athletic scandals and the possibility of 21 Savage creating a cooking show. Just listen we'll explain.

Oct. 11, 2018: Leverage
11/10/2018 Duração: 37minAn episode full of updates and occasional rants. What could go wrong? Specifically I talk about: Updates to the Khabib vs. McGregor fight and aftermath. What's going to happen to Khabib and why I think McGregor doesn't deserve a rematch just yet. Jimmy Butler decided to give the Minnesota Timberwolves an earful to players, coaches, and management during his first ever appearance at practice this season. But here's the catch, Butler has all the leverage. LeVeon Bell's contract dispute with the Steelers seem to never end. But something needs to happen fast. He needs to play, not just for the sake of his contract loopholes, but (selfishly) for the sake of my fantasy team. An Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman literally played with a broken back next Thursday. I'll tell you why things could have gotten much worse for him, and how it alludes to the decline of the NFL as a whole.

07/10/2018 Duração: 42minWarning: Explicit Content. We’re back! And now we’re joined by UFC fan Sergei Harvey to talk about the Lightweight championship bout between Connor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
