In the last episode of Blazers & Flag Pins before the August 7 primary election in Missouri, Hallie talks with David Seamon, who is running as a Democrat for Presiding Commissioner of Boone County in central Missouri. Hallie and David talk about the county commission, knocking on doors, and what it means to have a seat at the table.

In Episode 11, Hallie sits down to talk with Dr. Ayanna Shivers, 2018 Democratic candidate for Missouri's Senate District 10, which includes just a sliver of the 4th Congressional District and extends east toward St. Louis. They discuss campaign strategies and volunteer work, women in politics, and the importance of getting out the vote.

In Episode 10, Hallie talks with Jim Hogan, the 2018 Democratic candidate for Missouri House District 126. Hallie and Jim talk about protecting public education, especially for smaller and rural districts, investing in Missouri's future, and campaigning door-to-door.

In Episode 9, Hallie talks with special guest Katy Geppert, the 2018 Democratic candidate for MIssouri's 3rd Congressional District. Hallie and Katy, also a scientist, talk about the challenges and opportunities of being women and outsiders in politics, the constraints of the gig economy, health care access, and student debt, and developing positions based on research and evidence.
