Sinopse

Metro Conversations are about bringing Urbanist and City Making conversations out of the Urban core to places where cool urban transformations are happening: the urban edge, the north shore, south of the Fraser, the northeast sector. We provide experts with contrasting views, to get the facts out front and the conversation rolling. Then ask your questions and present your opinions, so we all can learn from each other. Metro Conversations doesn't have lecturers and audience, but presenters and participants. It's a conversation. Add your voice.Metro Conversations are presented in partnership with SFU Public Square and hosted by councillors Nathan Pachal from the City of Langley, Kiersten Duncan from the City of Maple Ridge, Mathew Bond from the District of North Vancouver and Patrick Johnstone of New Westminster.

Meanwhile, the Black Lives Matter movement is re-igniting conversations about the Colonial and racist foundations of many Canadian institutions, including the very form of our government. Councillors Nathan Pachal from Langley City, Mathew Bond from the District of North Vancouver, and Patrick Johnstone from New Westminster talk about what it means to be white-passing, ways in which systemic racism can be addressed, and what it means to listen, learn, and get out of the way.
