Two images have popped up on social media recently that are misleading. One is a glowing map of Australia. The image shows what looks like the whole continent is burning. Yes, the fires are devastating, but this picture is misleading if you don't understand the context behind the image. Then, you have a Congressman who tweeted a fake picture of Obama shaking the Iranian President’s hand. How can you fact check photos? It’s not as hard as it might seem. In this episode I sound like an old woman who should be saying, "Get off my lawn!" My point in this podcast is to point out that social media is supposed to connect us, yet why don't we feel more connected?  Face-to-face communication matters! Can't we make that the new social craze of this new decade? I'm not saying to ditch social media in 2020--I'm saying, lets make it a more healthy habit than what we did in the 2010s. Who ARE These People? First Impressions of the LARGE Democratic Party: Part 5 Cory Booker and Andrew Yang Celebrity vs. the unknown candidate. We, the mass audience, conjure up big names. We create big names out of people in pseudo-events. In this episode I take a look at celebrity and how Trump got into office. Then I examine Senator Cory Booker, who interacts with the celebrity crowd quite often, and unknown businessman, Andrew Yang.  Yang is unique. Booker is a career politician. In fact, I have no idea what Booker stands for other than he tweets a lot about policy, yet has no platform statement on his web site. I was disappointed to say the least.  Trademark vs. Unique.
