Sinopse

This is We're Just Trying to Help. Its a discussion-based podcast about dating on the college campus, specifically the University of South Carolina. For each episode, a student here will join us to share an experience theyve gone through and what they learned from it about making the college dating arena a better place. Since dating can often be so confusing and complicated, here is a safe space dedicated to talking about our mistakes, experiences, and vulnerabilities, learning from ourselves and learning from each other, and hopefully working toward making dating a little easier and a lot more fun. Episódios

  • Having Hard Conversations in the Name of Love: Tatiana

    23/04/2019 Duração: 25min

People often equate being in love with feeling understood. A good partner is someone who sees you for who you are and loves every part of you. In this episode of We're Just Trying to Help, senior English major Tatiana comes on to talk about how good it feels to finally have a partner who recognizes all of her identities and how they each affect her, in order to have a truly accepting and supportive relationship. She tells us how relationships can struggle when someone feels unseen by their partner, and how necessary it is to "do the work" for things to last. Album art is from freedesignfile. Theme music is by A. • Genuine Tinder: Mikki Antonio

In this modern dating world, if you haven't used dating apps like Tinder, you've at least heard of them. They've steadily become apart of the dating arena for everyone, adding a whole new question of how to "swipe" appropriately. For this third episode of the podcast, Mikki Antonio joins us to talk about her recent Tinder experiences. Mikki is a senior at the University of South Carolina, majoring in English and Art Studio. Listen as she shares what she's learned over time about interacting on the app, as well as about herself. Album art is from freedesignfile. Theme music is by A. A. Aalto.

    13/02/2019 Duração: 23min

This second episode of We're Just Trying to Help is a shout out to all the dudes up in the dating arena giving off wrong vibes. On the podcast to talk about searching for clarity in a world of confusing signals is my friend Andrew Crossan. Andrew is a senior at the University of South Carolina, majoring in English, and he talks to us about the struggles of figuring out the intentions of the men around him, some who seem to not even know for themselves. Per usual, dating's a mess, but it doesn't have to be, and Andrew shows us how working to make your needs known to others is a step in the right direction. Album art is from freedesignfile. Theme music is by A.
