In this episode, we talk with North Texas band SB Wilkerson about their new single "Different Reality" and their forthcoming album of the same title.  You would think that having theater virtuoso parents and being classically trained in singing, dancing and acting would make for an easier transition to becoming a singer-songwriter in a band. Shafer Wilkerson, who fronts his group SB Wilkerson, would beg to differ. Despite his musical theater-heavy credentials and having released a solo EP in 2016, Wilkerson is just beginning to find his voice as a singer-songwriter with his band’s new single “Different Reality,” which was Aug. 16.

In this episode, we wrap up Mark Hughes' story about being named a suspect in one of the deadliest attacks on law enforcement since 9/11. Jeff Hood, one of the organizers of the rally, after which the attack occurred, also chimes in to talk about why he never wanted guns at his protests. 

On July 7, 2016, there was a peaceful rally against police brutality in Dallas, Texas. Hundreds of people showed up in downtown Dallas in response to the police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. As the rally was coming to a close, a lone gunman opened fire on police. Mark Hughes is an activist who was caught up in law enforcement's investigation to find the shooter that night. This is his story.
