Moses Kyarisima is a former Community Health Officer at the Bwindi Community Hospital in SW Uganda. Nowadays he’s a medical entrepreneur, delivering mobile obstetric and other medical scans by motorcycle to pregnant women and others.I was in Uganda recently and sat down with Moses to talk about how he identified and met a need to deliver medical care to women in the villages, far from the city. Dr. Scott and Carol Kellermann have worked in SW Uganda for about 20 years, providing medical services for the Batwa Pygmies. The Batwa were the inhabitants of an ancient rainforest until the 1990s when the Ugandan government evicted them in order to establish a national park for the mountain gorilla.
