Midweek Round 2

In this episode, we finally get to a question that some of y'all have been grinding on us to do for a whole year now: what in the world are the Nephilim from Genesis 6? David and Sophia chop it up on this episode, which is, if we may say so ourselves, an absolute banger. MILD CONTENT WARNING: Some sterile, medical discussion of genitalia as it relates to the passage in question. We love you. Jesus loves you. On the second episode of this season, David and Sophia confront a heavy question: what happens to the soul of a person who dies by suicide? 

Kicking off Season 3, we're going right for the jugular with a fun and important conversation about a big family debate among Christians. All Christians agree that baptism is a critical part of following Jesus, but is baptism a necessary component of salvation? David is joined by Sophia in this episode to kick off the season.

David and Mason tackle a question of enormous importance: if God is all powerful, then can he sin? And if he can't sin, is he really all powerful? Give it a listen! This is our last episode before the mid-season break! We'll be back with a new episode on 1/11/21!

David is joined by Mason for a look at a question that might seem obvious on the surface, but hides some surprising depth. Listen to this one with caution. You might feel an uncontrollable urge to read Genesis afterward.

Now here's an interesting one: we can only observe about 4-5% of the universe. If God really did create everything, then why create so much universe when so little of it is observable to human beings? Like any question about God, the answer's bigger than you can imagine. David and Margaret team up to give this solid question its due!

We're back with another deep question: how did God get His start? This question's a great springboard into a chance to put God into His proper context: a huge God who isn't bound by anything other than his kindness and grace toward us!

In the first episode of Season 2, David takes a dive into a surprisingly complicated question. What does the Bible tell us about salvation, and is it permanent?

This week's episode features special guest Macy Wilson taking a deep dive with David and Margaret into the messy problem of how Christians ought to handle anxiety - especially in light of Jesus' example. Plus, David tells the story of the Ketchup Bottle at the End of the Universe.

"We need God to be the kind of God who gets angry because we need Him to destroy evil. A God who doesn't get angry at evil is a God who can't be trusted to deal with evil. [...] But we have to remember that our anger, no matter how righteously directed, can't produce righteousness the way God can."

As the current COVID-19 crisis continues, we're retooling our format a little bit. Times of great crisis always represent a challenge to our followship of and fellowship with God, and the way we handle our emotions is a central part of this. For the next few weeks, we'll be walking through what it looks like for a Christian to handle everything from fear to anger to anxiety. Join us!
