This chapter tells us we have to share what we enjoy because there are two ways to live in the world. You can either hate your neighbor and so destroy yourself, or you can love your neighbor and so love yourself

Living well in God’s world means recognizing that when it comes to our own lives, we are not mini-gods, and this is his creation, not ours. Our life is given to us and things come and go and seasons change, and it is only God who knows exactly where everything is meant to go, in which order, at what time, and why.

Ecclesiastes 1-2 teaches that only God gives to us enjoyment and satisfaction in life. Endless enjoyment does not come in a box, does not come from sex, it is not the key ring to your dream house. We all know what it’s like to have tasted the best life has to offer and still be left wondering what comes next. God has to give us enjoyment, or the thing itself (box, sex, house) will leave us unsatisfied.

If we won’t live forever, or even long enough to make a lasting difference to the world, how then should we live? It takes the whole of Ecclesiastes to answer that question – the argument is cumulative and we need to allow the Preacher to give us the answer bit by bit, like an artist painting a canvas – here is the 1st answer: Accepting death is the first step in learning to live

The stories of Scripture aren’t just their stories…it is our stories. Acts 11 speaks to the issue of racism. Acts 11 speaks into the dynamics of racism that are still being debated till this day and the reality of that tells us that the Scriptures are anything but irrelevant in this cultural moment.

In this talk we'll look at Saul, disappointment, and the grace to keep pressing on when life gets discouraging.

Acts 9:1-19, tells us the story of Saul, an unlikely convert who opposed Christians and Christianity. In this sermon we talk about how grace works and changes people - even the most unlikeliest ones.

In this passage we see how ordinary everyday Christians proclaim the gospel in both word and deed and because of it the city flourishes.

You don’t need a spotlight to make a difference you just need humility. Today we are going to profile a man named Stephen who had one principle that he lived by: Its not about me!

In this teaching we are going to see a moment of failure and tragedy in the early church, God is using it to warn some of us directly in it to look to Christ with fresh honesty.

What does Easter mean? The message of Easter is a message of hope in a world full of empty hope.

Is Jesus Christ really the only way to God? In this teaching we address one of the primary objections people have about Christianity: That salvation is found only in Jesus. Throughout the span of all human history, this has always been the fundamental religious question… Are there multiple ways to God?

Acts 3 is the first instance of a miracle, and if you understand this miracle, in a way, you understand them all. This miracle shows you how God feels about suffering in the world and what he’s doing about it, and what he’s saying to us in that suffering; and it shows us, as the church, what our mission is in the world.

In Acts 2:42-47, we get a sneak peak into the everyday life and rhythms of the early church. Quickly, we see that Christianity isn’t a call to find ourselves, but to lose ourselves in him and to learn to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. When the church is comfortable and cultural – she tends to be weak. When the church uncomfortable and countercultural – she tends to be strong.

Acts 2 tells us the story of the church and how she was born. In this teaching we explore both necessary of means of the word and power if the church is going to exist in the world today.

Since it’s inception, Christianity was never popular or accepted in the broader culture. Christians were seen as ‘bizarre’ ‘weird’ ‘outlandish’ ‘repellent’ The overall culture resented Christians and its beliefs. Yet the church flourished because it refused to accommodate to culture. It flourished because it was distinctively different. This is why we need Acts to help us understand our place in this culture and God’s purposes in this world. We need Acts to teach us that our convictions must run deep… We need a Vision that is not based on fear or survivor mode – but rather a rich presence in our own time that inspires the beauty and possibility of Christ’s church. The good news is that the church has advanced and borne beautiful fruit in cultural situations much more complex and challenging than our own The advancement of the KOG does not depend on the cultural situat

What is 2018 going to look like for you? Will it look like a commitment to a better self through self-improvement or a better self through confession, repentance, and faith? What if 2018 was more about knowing Christ and pressing into the future rather than dwelling and living from the past?

We step into the story of Mary and the miracle that was the virgin birth of Jesus. The virgin birth is not simply a sweet Christmas story. The virgin birth is not a comforting idea. The virgin birth is scary because if we understand what is going on, we will see that in the uterus of this little Nazarene virgin girl, God is declaring war against Satan, sin, and death.

The season is a time for rejoicing and giving. As soon as Thanksgiving is over (and sometimes even before), we start putting up the tree and listening to our favorite Christmas songs. There’s nothing wrong with doing these things, of course, but over the next 3 weeks our goal is to prepare you for Christmas instead of celebrating Christmas. By doing this we will look at the 3 birth narratives from the book of Luke. In this teaching will explore hope through the pain and joy of Zechariah and Elizabeth.
