Hurricane Matthew has come and gone through our community of Central Florida since our last episode and cancelled most of the late week and weekend, including church. Everything is meaningless! Take a brief stroll through the pages of the biblical book of Ecclesiastes and imminent doom and gloom are likely to follow your journey. But should this be the case? We tend to avoid what don’t understand and Solomon doesn’t make it easy to wrestle through the everything is meaningless narrative. However, we find an amazingly simple truth and begin to see a different side of Solomon that might explain his drudgery.We welcome our special guest and last weeks speaker, Dr. Don Williams, from Adventist Univeristy of Health Sciences to the program this week. However, this week our trio investigates the often scary world of covenants, rules, sacrifices, and the symbolism of blood in the bible. For all that can be confusing and misunderstood we find some reassuring clarity; family. We are all family in a new lineage of Christ that brings faith to the forefront of our journey. This realization should bring peace and joy to our hearts. Our capacity for empathy should explode for those we once viewed as outsiders but now embrace as family. This week "Rated R for Relevance" continues with the story of Rahab the prostitute and a discussion of labels and redemption. Join Randy, Jeff, and special guest Bill Crofton in the studio for Episode 15.Labels are a seemingly innocent tool used to categorize or assign relevance to a wide array of objects and situations. But when they are assigned to people they are rarely removed, for better or worse. When the latter occurs the negative point of view from our peers and community is enough to derail the belief that God could or would use someone with our brokenness. The good news is that God can use everyone, even the unlikeliest and improbable!
